Exhaust dumped

So i was at the exhaust shop today getting oil changed and getting my seafoam pressure injected through the intake. Well the guy said he heard a leak and we went looking for it. We couldnt find it until he ran his hand above the driver side muffler and there is a hole the size of a silver dollar if not bigger. So he said it would be around $80 for the flow 40 and installed. Well my tips are rusted out, and the dumbasses who installed my exhaust before i owned it ran the tubes under the rear axle instead of above it so i bottom out easy. So i asked him about just dumping it after the mufflers and he said that it wouldnt cost anything more and that it would add a little more tone to the sound along with not having it running under the axle. Im probably going to end up doing this, what is your all thoughts on this?

save and put a cb on it,not a fan of dumps

im not a big fan of dumps, it causes a lot of drone. some people like them. its all in your own opinion tho.

? well i just thought it would be cheaper to do that then pay to have the exhaust reworked and new tips put on and everything when i can do this. Dont know for sure yet.

cb=catback

you can get a catback for like 350 but if you wanna do this just to get the car fixed then go for it.

ah gotcha. If my car was better/faster/nicer than i would do the whole catback exhaust set up and shit, but since it is only the old sn95 v6 then i will just do this probably because it is only $80 and shit. Can always go back and get it redone if ever needed.

I like dumps myself. Had them on my 91 an plan on having them on my 89, but these aren't and never would be my daily driver so the constant loudness and drone might get annoying.

If its too loud, your too old!

I drove my stang without an interior in it with the dumped 40's for a while... was not too bad... but then again, I also had no stereo in the car or door panels or anything like that, and I knew that it was not the most confortable car...

man double posting is just all over the place tonight lol

well when i was getting the seafoam done through the intake it was smoking hella hardcore and so i rolled my windows up, after about 15 min of all that shit, i open my door and there is just white smoke inside of it, i must have a leak somewhere in the floorboard or someplace. I hot rodded it after then till it stopped smoking. Well when i first left and was getting on it i had my windows down and still saw smoke rising from the floorboard and down by my feet on both sides.....kinda weird.

and +1 on the if its too loud, your too old lol. I could never get tired of hearing my car actually being loud so im fine with it.

i wanna dump mine now... i have tossed it around. Is there a difference if you have the piping facing towards the ground or just straight out. I have heard that the exhaust fumes get in the cabin of the car if they arent facing the ground.

facing out, could be dangerous(straight towards the gas tank)

but mine were dumped and here you can see a back fire under mine... no issues were ever had.

Don't get me wrong I love it being loud and plan on doing it again but I understand how people could not like it cuz it does drone and could be obnoxious if you had to drive it long distance. The sound would be different between having it point out and down though. Search it on youtube. I like the sound.
