Besides N/A is soo much more fun anyway even if you dont make some stupid high HP and torque numbers.

I dont think the original Shelby's had Superchargers from the factory either, so I kind of see it as a slap in Carol Shelby's face to put one in there, even though he approved his name's use. Ford should have done the smart thing and cram the largest V8 they could fit in the GT500 and tune that to make similiar power. It would have been a much nicer car.

And FI sounds like Rice to me, no offense, I respect you all the same, but I cant deal with the whine, especially when it's loud. It's just unnatural, let alone how unharmonic it is... drives me crazy.

Any news on if they are changing the power plant in these things when they bump the GT to a 5.0? If they dont, I think I would take the GT over a GT500.

Sick car, needs less whine

Everyone's entitled to their personal opinions, personally, the most jawdropping video I saw of a GT500 was actually two GT500's doing drive by laps full out, they sounded like something out of a sci-fi movie and had a very cool, unearthly sound. Definitely not a vintage muscle car sound, but cool in a modern way.

As for Shelby... he's getting his investment from Ford and he certainly was pretty good at putting unnecessary garbage on his own cars merely for looks alone back in the day....

And Fox, has any concrete news emerged about what's going in the 2011 GT?

Nope, I have just seen what youhave seen, pics and vids of the motor dubbed "the coyote ( 4v 5.0 )"... Im just saying I would rather have a GT and throw 10 psi at it ( with a SC of my choice - Procharger ) than spend 20k more for the cobra.

I gave up looking at the speculation a year ago when everyone was muttering about 6.0s and some such.

Definitely agreed though on the custom route -- that's the spirit of Modded Mustangs anyway. The GT500 looks polished, but I'd rather run the thought and pick better parts than the beancounters.
