Unknown Car?

I saw a bad ass car here the other day and wish I could have slowed down to get a pic or name or something. Hopefully I will see it again. I thought it said like exion on the back. It was black and looked like a crossbreed of a fiero and a lamborghini....crazy huh....it was just really small like a fiero. We have Smart cars here and they make a sport version called the Smart Roadster but it was not one of those. Anyone got ideas?

Elise is much more affordable. In fact, you can get a used one for less than 20k. The big problem with Lotus is quality. They are worse than Jaguar. They have massive amounts of break downs and quality problems. I looked at an Esprit some time ago. The dealer told me if you spend $20,000 on a Lotus you need just that much in the bank for repairs. If you cant do this than dont buy it. That was the words from the dealer himself.

That was with the old Rover engines. New Lotuses (Loti?) have switched to Toyota mills, and those problems are no longer prevelant.

The Lotus I looked at a ways back was an 89.5 Esprit. It was a 4 cylinder turbo and the engine block was marked with "MGB" if I remember correctly. Even then, the tail lights were purchased by Lotus from Toyota, they were the same ones they were putting on Celicas I believe. The whole car was basically parted together from other manufacturers. My favorite car of all time is the Lotus Esprit..but like the 2002 or 2003 model with the twin turbo V-8.

Hahah - close, the tail lights are from a AE86 Corolla.

I love the Espirit, but I would never buy one. There was never really hard model changes with that car... Lotus would make some, then change something, then make more, then change something else...

Elise for under 20k, yeah right.
And the new s2's use toyota transmissions and engines to quality and reliability is fine.
