Billett steel or forged steel flywheel?
So I think my clutch took a shit on me and I am going to go ahead and replace the flywheel since I have already had it turned twice. Which one of these do you guys recommend?

I think I would go with forged steel.

I'd go with the Billet.
Is this the same issue you've been having? Didn't you just swap the clutch? |

Ah, gotcha.
Personally....my reasoning...the forged steel one isn't in stock.

The forged steel will be heavier than the billet.

The way I understand it, forged parts are pressed and require just a little machining, so once the dies and presses are set up, they can make a lot more for less money. Billet parts are cut from a solid chunk of steel and are fully machined so it takes longer, and they can charge more.
Aside from that, it depends a lot on what kind of steel is used, and what the properties are... If I'm wrong, someone please correct me. |
