paypal dispute question

I was wondering if anyone has ever had any luck using the paypal dispute thing. I bought a vortech pulley off a guy on corral.net that claimed it was a 3.33". Turns out its a 3.25". I emailed him and sent a pm asking if he made a mistake and shipped the wrong one (since he had a few for sale) and if I could get a refund for what I paid and ill even pay to ship it back to him. As I expected the guy wont respond yet he has been online since ive sent the email & pm according to the last login thing on corral. So I sent him another email & pm stating if I dont hear back from him by tomorrow I will be filling a dispute with paypal.

I was wondering if you guys have had any luck with the paypal dispute bs in such situations and about how long it takes to get everything resolved?

You submit your dispute, they will contact the seller for his side of the story. There is a place on the paypal site where you can submit proof of your claim such as shipping docs, photos and what not. If they find in your favor, not sure if they can make to guy fix the problem, but I know they can suspend, and in some cases deactivate the sellers account. Hope this helps ya.

After looking at this thing more it doesnt even look like a damn vortech pulley. Picss are below. If its not screw giving him until tomorrow ill file the dispute now. It fits on the headunit but doesnt really look like other vortech pullies ive seen.

tell paypal the ebay id number they will look it up and also show them what the pully he described is and they will rule in your favor. i think i got hosed over the biggest on pay pal by a mm member at that.. you just have to be careful.

File the claim now. If he makes it right, then it doesn't hurt anyone. But if you wait to long & he doesn't make it right, then you will be screwed.

Problem solved. W/o making a book. He didnt get back to me because he is sick so his wife emailed me. She said she contacted him at work and he was told it was a 3.33" when he purchased it and never measured. I said that was understandable and attached some pics of measuring it with a dial caliper. Took about an hour to eat dinner and such and go back online and i got the money refunded and will be sending it back to him tomorrow. Thanks for your input everyone.
