danes are awesome....I really want another but the wife will kill me if I come home with another dog.....The are extremely clumsy when they are puppies cause they dont realize how big they are....Are you going to get his ears done? Congrats you are going to love him

lol, i had a great dane named tiny. she was one of the best dogs i've ever had. funny story how we got her, too. it's worth reading.

one morning i went outside and my parents were out there feeding her in the yard. she was scared as hell. we ended up keeping her. oh and BTW, somebody ran off the road into the ditch in front of our house the night before.

fastforward to a year or so later. my friend was over at my house and we went outside and he saw tiny.

him - "that looks identical to a dog i had about a year ago. her name was tasha."

me - "no shit? what happened to her?"

him - "my mom was drunk one night and ran her jeep into the ditch in front of your house and tasha was riding with her and she jumped out and ran away and we never saw her again."

as soon as i realized he was too dumb to put the two and two together, without hesitation i said

me - "where did you get her?"

him - "we found her on the side of the road a few months before she disappeared after my mom's wreck."

then me, being the smartass genius i am, without missing a beat said

"no way! she went missing for a few months after we got her! she was at your house all along??!"

oh and by the way, that kid was the same one i got suspended for beating the shit out of in 7th grade lol

Yeah they look good either way on danes.....I cant stand to see a dobie with floppy ears though, They dont even look like a doberman they look like a hound dog....If you dont cut the ears on danes and dobermans You have to make sure to clean their ears like 2-3 times a week or they are very prone to get ear infections. Cropping the ears on them and a few other breeds lessens the chance of infections
