It was a kick ass trip for sure! Kegs on tap, and a SS BBQ! No strippers, but one hell of a climbing trip! I was lucky enough to have a friend show me the legendary hidden valley caves that we nicknamed the chasm of doom. We did it drunk at night too!

It was close enough that 5 guys could lug it in! You can see my camper in this shot and the guy that brought the bbq parked off to the left at the next site (Behind the trees).

In the legend of the hidden valley cave, i've heard that you are supposed to do it at night, on mushrooms, with no headlamp. But you would die for sure!! some of the drop offs are 60'+. Even sober with no light at night.. you would probably end up dead. J-tree could result in some bad trips for sure, if you were into that, and didn't know the park very well. Its real easy for newbs to get lost because everything looks the same. You could end up walking 10mi before you realize you went the wrong way. Add in the wind, heat, no cell phones, and no water and you are asking for trouble. Many people have died in J-tree after getting lost. Check out this pic of the wonderland of rocks. Its easy to see how everything looks the same.

In J-tree at hidden valley, or in the town? Did you see that group of 3 soloing that rock in hidden valley? They were nuts, hanging upside down 70' off the ground with no rope!! Here they are coming down.
