I was thinking of buying the new Camaro or a Mustang. I had Mustangs are much much slower. I'm not sure though they look really cute. I'd be happy just spanking a few Civics. Not really looking to compete with a Chevy. What do you think which car is better. Heard the Camaro ain't got good cup holders.

<facepalm> The Mustang has never, and will never be designed to directly compete with any GM or Chrysler product in anything EXCEPT sales. Ford could care the hell less if our car had more HP than a Camaro, and the reason is because the Mustang sells, the Camaro does not. Having said that, our 300 HP (*cough*) 4.6L V8's haul some serious ass and give Camaro's a good run for their money. An LS1 Camaro in it's stock form will still win, but thats only in the performance division and in a straight line. A mustang is very predictible in the curves and has an aftermarket that is dang near untouchable.

People who race stock cars are a minority. If you want my honest oppinion, the LS motors sound like crap, no matter what exhaust is on em, all they have going for them is performance, and the entire "history" of the Camaro is a direct result of the Mustang, No Mustang = No Camaro, it's that simple, if 45 years ago Ford said "Fak the Mustang concept it's horrid" the Camaro would have never existed in it's form. You also have to keep in mind that Chevy, and Dodge are BEHIND Ford in the production of their cars, giving them the advantage of knowing the competition prior to the release of their cars, so of course the Camaro and the Challenger will have Higher HP, but the fact that a Camaro runs 13s flat in the 1/4 (the new one) and the new Mustang runs 13.5 just goes to show that no matter how long it takes Chevy to release a Camaro, it will always be performing with it's 100 HP less, bastard brother from Ford.

So you can tell your friend, 45 years of dominance speaks for itself when the Camaro can barely hold sales let alone a reliable vehicle...

For some reason I think the gap between the 2010 camaro and 3v's Mustang's when racing being not much more than a 3v and LS1's. I'd like to see a LS1 Camaro and the new LS3 one race in the 1/4 and from a roll.
