The capability of trianulating one's whereabouts with the phone is essentially the same thing as GPS. It works very well in real time. In fact, it works exactly like your E71's Assisted GPS within in city limits.
The E71 can only handle up to 8GB of storage with a microSD card. Regardless, you are still ignoring WHY Apple and AT&T have taken their sweet time with tethering and MMS. Tethering is not allowed according to the contract. AT&T charges $30 for a data plan. They have a separate plan if you want to use their wireless internet using their wireless hardware. Tethering negates this, therefore they lose money, hence the lack of tethering capability for so long. However, the features already exist on the iphone to do this. It is simply not activated for said reason. MMS is something they were trying to get away with as I stated before. It's well known that the ability to send mulimedia texts has existed in the iphone's firmware from the beginning, just as video recording has. It simply was not activated. It was believed that email via smartphone would emerge as the winner over MMS. You keep talking like the iphone is behind the power curve when it is in fact, ahead of the curve, but you are blatantly ignoring why certain features were left unavailable. It's obvious Apple did something right, or none of the other companies would be scrounging to push out other touch screen phones. There are literally thousands of applications available through Apple, not counting everything you can get for free via jailbreaking. Here's a year old article claiming that the E71 will be the "iphone killer:" Review: Nokia E71 Is a Legit iPhone Killer — We’re Serious This Time | Gadget Lab | Wired.com I see this from the competitors all the time... "Here comes the iphone killer!" But they all keep getting their asses handed to them. The Nokia E71 was one, the Google G1 was another, the Blackberry Storm... the latest Palm, which just got a shitty review compared to the iphone, so on and so forth. Don't get me wrong, I'm certainly no Apple fanboy. I'm more of a microsoft kinda guy. But the Apple has come up with some pretty impressive features with the iphone that weren't available before it came out. You can thank Apple for some of your phone's capabilities. But no, the iphone wasn't revolutionary when it came out a couple years ago. The technology used to build it must have been from the 50's or some shit. ![]() I'll agree that no one can say one or the other is better. User preference is what it all boils down to. But to claim an opinion on a product you don't use.... lol. That's like me saying "XBOX SUCKS!" because my only experience is with a Nintendo Wii.

I do have experience w/ the iPhone b/c I used to have one. Believe it or not, there are people have had the phone and didn't like it. My E71 also has 100% GPS. Yes it has assisted GPS that's triangulation but it also has real GPS. I've used it while backpacking in the middle of nowhere and it works great (where the iPhone didn't). I'm not saying the iPhone isn't a good phone and selling well. I'm saying it's not REVOLUTIONARY. The Mustang is one of the leading cars on the market but it's not the best performance car or most modern. It's about selling to what people want and having a good overall package. The iPhone has 100% touchscreen (touchscreen is NOT not technology), nice look, and a pretty GUI. This is what people want right now but it's not new or revolutionary technology.

The t-mobile one is great. Because it's jailbroken...I love that freedom. It works flawlessly too.

i think "revolutionary" is the perfect word to describe the iphone
contrary to popular belief, most people don't buy it for how it looks or for the apple name. most buy it for the features. people complain about no MMS saying older phones have had it for years, but for every feature the iphone is lacking, think of how much it has made up for it with the different apps just about anything you can possibly imagine a device doing, from guessing your 1/4 mile times, to being used as a leveler, to listening to emergency radio in tons of different cities, to calculating the exact sun position to take the best pictures possible.. if that's not revolutionary then i don't know what is |

What does the Mustang have to do with any of this? The vehicle itself isn't revolutionary in that it employs known technologies and doesn't do anything that hasn't been done before (outside of the occasionaly body style change). However, one could say that Ford produced a revolutionary product when the first cars it produced came out, because other people followed suit by copying the technology such as GM, and putting their own twist on it.
Now, if a Mustang came out that employed existing technologies that hadn't been combined before, which caused Chevy to start producing a product to compete with it, then that would be revolutionary. So why do you say the iphone isn't revolutionary? Because it wasn't the first to use a touchscreen interface? (LG Prada) Because accelerometers had already been invented and used in other products? I'm curious to know how a touchscreen isn't "technology." After all, unlike some of the other products on the market, it's not pressure sensitive (LG Vu). Or because it didn't come with certain features activated? Generally, a revolutionary product is one that causes a change in how others following produce their products. When it becomes the standard that others use to base their projects off of. That is exactly what Apple has done with the iphone. If it wasn't a revolutionary product, none of the competitors would be following suit. Since the iphone emerged, everyone producing a smartphone has benchmarked it's product against the iphone. The other companies have tried to top the iphone. Two years later and the competitors are still trying to catch up. How is that not a revolutionary product? The Nintendo Wii... revolutionary. Microsoft is following suit by developing it's own version of motion sensing technology for video games and movies via the XBOX. Others will follow suit because of what Nintendo has done for the gaming community. <3
