What upsets me is the fact that this was one of the last few artists left that really "felt" their music and believed in it. People like Johnny Cash and Elvis were the same way. He was perfect at what he did and made awesome music. RIP MJ there will never be anyone else like you.

It was sad days indeed when Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett and Ed Macmahon passed. But it is even sadder when the House of Representatives in this country has a moment of silence for Michael Jackson, Ronald Regan and numerous other "famous" people but every day american troops die in combat and I never see the House of Representatives having a moment of silence for these troops or the families that they leave behind. Good people die of cancer all the time and the House of Representatives don't have a moment of silence for them either. Pathetic.

I give them a moment of silence each day. Then I talk to myself and realize I need help.

Many people do die everyday, however MJ was an american ICON, he changed the world in many places and was only 1 person. Just because the house of reps had a moment of silence for MJ and you haven't ever seen them do it for everyone else doesn't mean they don't have one. Just means you aren't their if they do. Music would not be what it is today if it weren't for him.

I admit I was a HUGE Jacko fan when I was a kid. I grew up on MTV... remember when it first came out. Jacko was the person everyone copied off when it came to videos. He could actually sing and write, and dance. He was one in a million. I still listen to Thriller now and then for nostalgic reasons. He had his demons like everyone else.

Billie Jean was the first video I remember actually watching MTV and waiting them to play it. There was something about that beat at the beginning. Good stuff.

That song still stands the test of time. The thriller Video is still neat.

List of best-selling albums worldwide - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nobody else in history even comes close to selling as many copies as Thriller.

Though Michael got a moment of silence in the House, If I don't get a moment of silence I'll be ok with that. He sold more albums than Led Zeppelin, more than twice as many. I haven't sold any, I don't even know anyone who's made a successful album, or appeared beyond the community theater. Ever go to a foreign country? Remember hearing "blah blah blah, Michael Jackson, blah blah blah". You can go to the dirtiest most primitive parts of the world, and if you hear the name of one entertainer it's MJ (and oddly enough, often the Scorpions). I'll bet 95% of us make less than $100,000 a year. That guy paid $5 mil a year just to run his amusement park. He was huge.

I'm not a fan, but damn, you can't argue with success. I'm not a Microsoft fan either, but damn, Bill gates!!!!

For true! He did change music and he wrote a ton of his own stuff, which I never knew.

An American Icon? So what? What about the American Soldiers? That is fine if they want to have a moment of silence for MJ, but if they are going to do that they should be doing it for the people in this country that really make a difference as well. This country would have done just fine with out his music or talent but this country would not do fine with out the soldiers giving their lives so we can have ours. Do you smell what I'm stepping in?

The media always shines the spot light on the wrong things.
