My little bro's friend almost died last night. i knew something was up when i came home and my dad's truck was parked crooked in my parking spot. But he went to pick up my bro and his friend at one of thier buddies house and my bro answered the door and said hold on i will go get mark. He went upstairs and was up there for like 10 min so my dad finally went in the house to look for them and found mark practically passed out and rushed him to the hospital right away. I guess he was smoking weed, taking valum or valuum idk how to spell it, and taking shots of tequilla. this kid is about 5'8 and 120ibs and he had a 1.98 alcohol leval. he was at the hospital for 5 hours getting his system flushed. if my dad didn't get him to the hospital right away he might have died.

anyway he is fine now but don't do drugs! or at least in large doses lol

that sucks, but a little change to the story, its physically impossible to have a alcohol level of 1.98, maybe .198 which is high but not crazy high.

and the kid didn't remember andything. he doesn't remember my dad taking him to the hosipital or the nurses and doctors stripping him nakes in 2 min to get the IV in and shit. he just remembers waking up in the hospital

Valium is a type of Benzo...

If there's anything I learned in Drug abuse class is that you don't mix Benzo's with alcohol... They're both depressants and he sinergized them caused an intensified effect which proves to be really toxic...

I'm glad it was caught in time otherwise it would be one shitty night.

seriously. im just glad my little bro wasn't doing that shit. he was just there swimming. wasn't high or anything. which is surprising because my bro used to smoke. i guess he wants to get his lisence. i try to be a role model for him but i guess there's just so much you can do. i asked him if he would have done the valium and shit and he said no im not an idiot so im glad he know's better.

I know I'm being an asshole in saying this, but I can never feel sorry for people that OD like that...It always makes me wonder what's wrong with them, and why they did it in the first place. I know people who smoke weed to feel happier, and I understand that...kinda...but to do all that...damn. I'm glad he's better, though

i understand if you feel that way about older people but he's just a kid. 15. probably just wanted to be cool if front of some girls or something. you know how kids are. i just hope he learned his lesson

There's various reasons as to people would turn to drugs....

The main reason kids give into drugs not because they're pressured (that's the second highest reason), but because drug education is so poor and the more you demonize something, the more curious a kid would be about the particular drug. You have kids who have smoked weed before and have the government say all kinds of 'negative' things weed does, and these people know the true effects of marijuana, then they feel like the whole prevention system is just a sack of lies and shit.

Valium is a drug that has medical use, and yet there are higher mortality rates for people whose cause of death is alcohol, tobacco, and other hard drugs (whereas it is non-existent for weed).

But then give it a psychological/social perspective as to why people do drugs. Could be because people can't cope with reality and use drugs as their escape of their hardships. Another reason being because it is culturally engrained for them to do drugs as a rites passage or community thing (peyote and mushrooms for religious reasons and cocaine leafs for the mountain people of Peru). I'm not justifying the cause, but for those who use drugs as an escape or as a means unfounded social acceptance, those are individuals who needs help more than just prevention but to unravel the psychological process in which causes the users to attain and use drugs.

also, people abuse drugs not because they feel like (hey lemme all of a sudden pop 8 pills of X), but because they build tolerance of the drug and they can't get the desired effect from the same dosage so they habitually add more and more to get the same effect.

and that is drug abuse 101 and my perspective on it a bit lol
