Live Broadcast at 5:30 PM Central: Mustang Stories Contest Winner Gets His Mustang

Kory Chesher, a member on The Mustang Source(Username is Ice Hawk), won the Mustang Stories Contest, and the prize was a 2010 Mustang GT. He was able to upgrade to a 2010 Shelby GT500, it's a Grabber Blue coupe with white stripes. Tonight, at 5:30 PM Central, there will be a live broadcast of him recieving his mustang.

i saw this live when they revealed the mustang for the first time to the public. how did he upgrade to a gt500? was a FREE 2010 GT not enough? sounds greedy to me

WTF its like the people who win the lottery its always someone rich as hell or some 147 year old lady with no familly that leaves all of the money to the church or her cat. Or the man and wife with 23 kids that live in a trailer and they blow all of the money on a ferrari and 15 million dollars worth of star wars memorobillia or some shit and then stay in the trailer with the ferrari out front.. You never see the average hard working familly win

He used the money that he won from the contest to originally get a GT with towards the GT500 from what I remember, I guess he's paying some of it monthly, I'll have to go look.

its still stupid. i would gladly say "here is this brand new mustang gt that i won" instead of "i won a new GT but didn't want it, instead i wanted a gt500 so i paid for some of it" seems kinda like a slap in the face to Ford or whoever was behind giving the car away

Ok he used the cash allowance which he won towards the GT500, and he's financing the rest, basically what I figured lol. Btw he's in the army.

i would of used that 16,714 he won (which is an odd number, well even) and modded the GT. that would of been a fast GT and probably would of been the first 2010 GT into the 10's or however fast he could of made it. i know he was in the army but it still doesn't justify anything

He's going to mod his GT500 though, not much he can do performance wise besides more boost and/or a bigger SC or exhaust though. Heads for GT500's are over 3 grand, cams are like 1200, so it's pretty expensive to mod their top end. Those GT500's dyno at over 500rwhp stock, friggin badass.

Suprisingly other members supported him upgrading to a GT500, they were saying that the Shelby SE's won't be out for too much longer so the GT500's will become rare.

thats a load of crap. they are saying that because Carroll Shelby is old. just because he will die sometime doesn't mean Shelby's will stop being made. its going to be given to someone or sold. Carrol Shelby is smart and i bet there are conditions that the new owner will have to abide by to not mess up the Shelby name

The GT500s were too mass produced to ever be rare or a collectors item like the old ones are... Anyone who buys one as an "investment" is a freaking idiot and will most likely work till they are in the late 80s because of their bad investing ideas.

That makes sense, it's not like 03/04 cobra's are rare. The GT500 will never be as sought after as the 03/04 SVT Cobra IMO.

Yeah I hope when Shelby passes the Shelby name stays the same, Shelby makes mustangs a lot more awesome so I wouldn't like to see that end.

Even the Termis are too mass produced to ever be considered rare or a collectors item... They are cool cars, but its not hard to find one. There are very few cars in this day and age to even be considered for this status. The key thing is that now everything produced on a line and is easily produced where the old 500s were built by hand, therefore there werent thousands upon thousands of them built.
