Long day at work today and I just sat down with a jones cream soda, that smells like cotton candy. mmmmm

Yes, They gave it away for free at Warped tour in 2000 thats when I first had it, its amazing.

I like the fact they actually use pure cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup.

Around here you can get Dublin Dr. Pepper which has real sugar, and the Mexico CocaCola, which also has sugar instead of the cheap corn substitute. Its pretty much unheard of to get it everywhere else because of franchise agreements.

I just went to the store and bought Pepsi and Mt. Dew (Pepsi & Mt. Dew Throwback) w/ sugar instead of corn syrup. The Dew tasted like flat diet Dew, nasty.

I do like some of the Jones flavors. Ok, pretty much only the cream soda. Everything else is just way too sweet for my taste.

+1,,, it didnt taste right to me either. Strange taste. I kept looking at the ingedients because it tasted to me like it had some sort of artificial sweetener in it.

what's wrong with high fructose corn syrup? don't you know that it's made from corn and just fine when consumed in moderation?

I told my wife last week that is was just fine to consume my man syrup in moderation....she didnt agree.

Seriously, I use light corn syrup in a ton of things. I replace cane sugar with it all the time especially in muffins and cakes. It retains moisture better and gives a better texture. I replace it at around a 20-25% ratio. Honey does the same thing but is a little more expensive and will alter the taste a bit unlike corn syrup if you substitute too much.

Next time you make anything with sugar (besides beverages), substitute honey or corn syrup and it makes a big difference.

Easy recipe from my empty mind.

put 1/2 cup water
1/2 cup of sugar
1/8 corn syrup into a sauce pan. Cook without stirring to 260 degrees.

Remove from heat right at 260. Put a 1/2 tablespoon of vanilla in and stir it up.

Pour the mixture over some popcorn and stir the crap out of it quick before it sets. Put some nuts in if you like da nutz.

mmmmmmmm.
