Well, they are keeping the Fusion for Sprint Cup, the Mustang will be used in the step down from that.
I think Nascar would be much more interesting if they had to use current production blocks, heads, and pump gas (and by pump gas, I mean 93 octane or less). They'd have to get rid of the no OHC rule, though.

I think it would be more interesting if they actually used "stock cars" that were just heavily modified, but still had to use the same concepts that the car had when it left the assembly line (ie IRS if it had it, and headlights, and the same body). Just like back in the 70s. Hell, if you wanted to race a car back in the 70s in nascar, you had ot produce at least x amount of that car for the public to buy. Yeah, it will be alot slower, but it will be alot less expensive for "poorer" teams to participate and be competitive.
