Preston looks like a mesomorph, I'm betting with the 4000 cal/day and his workouts, he can fluctuate his weight fairly easily.

when you're 18-25 years old, 10-12 lbs of lean per year isn't a lot honestly... not trying to be a dick or anything, just saying that some people are just more genetically inclined to gain weight.

we do the whole jog the curves and sprint the straightaway things for like two miles or so...i'm usually ready to kill myself afterwards...but like you I don't like cardio but because i'm not so good at it.

good god yes...My fiance and i went to san diego for a long weekend a while back and it was like comfortable 70s and 80s there...as opposed to 110+ here in AZ...people were mostly good-looking there and alot of people were running the boardwalk etc...i was like well damn, i guess if i had all the different things to look at and this nice most comfortable air to run in, I might be a little happier about going out to do it...something about running in really hot dry air isn't fun. lols

110 does sound shitty, hope it's not like that in November. the most fun i've had running was along the beach with 2 bikini clad friends. I had some crazy burns on my feet the day after though which kinda sucked. My trainer always told me that with the correct diet, cardio will take care of itself.

this is what i did and it works... look at mamastangs avi, thats me. so if u wana look close to that this is what u gota do....as far as your diet make sure u eat good carbs for energy otherwise your body wont have any energy to run on, eat lots of protien and fiber, fruits and veggies, ABSOULTLY NO POTATOS! eat sweet potatos instead.....

for your work out it would prolly b easier if you tried to bulk first... then after u get to what size u want start working on toning.

while you try to bulk thats when u eat more protien, carbs and all that kinda stuff. and lift more weight with less reps. and some cardio. you should always run a good 20 min b4 a workout. itll get your blood pumpin and will help you warm up

when you tone thats when you should try to eat lean protien and all that healthier stuff. and lift less weight with more reps.. and do LOTS of cardio.

AND GET AT LEAST 6 TO 8 HOURS OF SLEEP. if your body isnt properly rested itll take longer for your muscles to recover from your workouts. and will take alot longer to get results

now when i say carbs i dont mean eat lots of white bread and that kinda crap. i mean stuff like wheat bread, whole grain rice, ect... if you have any questions on what kind of exercises to do feel free to ask and ill help you out... this is exactly what i did to get the way i look in mamastang's avi

i disagree...i think 10-12 lbs is a good amount of lean muscle mass. Then again I don't gain weight that well and I drink like a fish. That's definitely holding my progress back

HIIT - Okay cool - He has me do that as well - push as hard as i can for as long as i can then recover for a minute or so then push again - usually do that for at least 20 min after my work out...

Appt tonight at 7 - taking hubby with tonight - hopefully he'll enjoy it and maybe start going himself a couple times a week....

heck yea man 10 -12 pounds lean mass isnt bad. Im only 5'7 and i can gain mass very quickly yet i have the knowledge and skills to cut the weight back off. Like i said i started around 168-172 and now im closing on 190. ive seen 191. I need to get around 200 before i start my toning progress. I use to get to 175 and then when it was summer i would drop back down to 158 an di would stay there until i needed to bulk. im not gaining fat though its more water retention than anything. im not doing as much cardio and i eat ALOT of carbs.

You guys workouts sound great keep the results coming!

*groan* nuther killer last night. did some new things - planks! WTF??? Held the position for 1 minute straight, 3 times which sounds like chicken shit I'm sure - but my whole body was shaking by the end of the minute and those were at the very end of the work out....so good times I guess

Back Monday....can't wait!

Hoping to decorate the house for Christmas today - it's going to be pretty warm out - sun is shining and the kids are gone. Bathroom is ALMOST done now. Think once this is done, we'll wait until after the holidays to decide about the basement. We've spent more than we had planned so far....but things look awesome...so guess it's good.

Meh - that wasn't work out related - but I'm also getting "mentally fit" by organizing the house....which is just as important I guess.
