Joined a gym on Tuesday. Started the cyclic diet yesterday so today is day 2 of the 3 day cleansing phase.

I, too, want to look like Nelly lilmarc!

Here's what I had yesterday:

Breakfast: 3 egg whites + 1 whole egg
Snack: 2 hard boiled eggs + 4 roma tomatos
Lunch: romaine lettuce with 2 hard boiled eggs, broccoli, cottage cheese & chicken
Snack: Brussels sprouts
Dinner: lean hamburger patty on the grill with sauteed onions & broiled okra

That's 8 stinkin' eggs if you're counting.

+++++++++++++++++++
MAMA'S RANT - NOT DIRECTED AT ANY ONE POST
+++++++++++++++++++

I had hoped this thread could be used seriously and be supportive of folks who are really trying to change their lifestyle and get healthy. I've done this on another website and it's worked brilliantly.

I've stopped posting in here because it is nothing more than SABOTAGE when you mention eating things that are not healthy or you are clearly not "trying" to do anything.

I absolutely HATE IT when people do that. Ask you what you're doing to loose weight then say "Oh I just had a bowl of ice cream or that's cool - I'm pigging out on steak and mashed potatos and following that up with a six pack"

That being said - as the original post/rules section indicates - please be respectful of what folks may be trying to achieve here. Talk about what plan you are working and explain it a little. Then about what IS working for you so others can get some inspiration. And if something IS NOT working, ask questions on how it can work.

8 stinking eggs is NOT healthy eating - but it is a temporary diet plan to rid my body of some excess weight and get ready for some weight training so I'm going to try it. I'd much rather be eating my standard oatmeal, beans and other natural foods in small quantities but will do this for now and hope I don't have to do it long.

If anyone would care to lend words of support and encouragement - it would be greatly appreciated.

I know what you mean mama, I quit posting in here too because 1) others weren't posting for days on end so I figured why bother. And i agree about people posting the delicious (terrible) things they ate. Everyone needs a cheat day but some people totally go out of dieting bounds on here. anyway, heres my days plan so far.

Breakfast: Oatmeal, Milk, Banana

Snack: V-8

Lunch: Leftover spaghetti squash & marinara sauce, apple sauce, Diet Dr. Pepper, Pluot.

Dinner: Baked Salmon, Brown rice, Salad.

Not sure about the workout, mostly cardio (interval training)

Probably devoting your life to nothing but the gym and healthy eating for 7 months.

Your gonna have to diet like CRAZY to build muscle and be that cut. Unless you dedicate your life to the gym and eating healthy its pretty impossible plus hes being working at that for years.

The only reason I mentioned the bad things I ate Is because Im being honest in the post, not trying to sway other readers to eat dum dum lollipops and gobbs of ice cream.

Anyways, I will refrain from posting if it bothers people.

I want my abs to show too, but it's not going to happen if I don't do a lot of cardio, curse this Texas heat.

I would try doing some crunches to tighten your ab muscles up, that's what I do, and it seems to help.

If you want to pack on pounds for the sake of gaining weight, run 1.5 miles a day at most. Any more will cause you to shed muscle.

Dom it doesn't bother me that you're posting here. In fact, this has nothing to do with you personally. Your post does kind of show what I'm talking about but honestly, the lolly is the least of it.

Sugar, fat and starches is not what you should be eating if you are lifting and trying to get ripped....you should be eating high protein and low carbs. Anyone that wants to eat healthy will tell you to cut fat and sugar. Don't take it personally, that's the point of this thread - figure out what you're doing wrong and fix it.

Sometimes I have 60g of sugar a day, but usually closer to 40. The other day I had over 100g of carbs, I feel so mad.

Should I go low carb if I want to get ripped or no because I'm still growing?

I wanna afford a trainer...here is where i get all screwed up...I go to pt, where we run anywhere from 1-4 miles three times a week, there is no structure, and when i do that much running in the morning i can't do my workout in the evening because my body is spent for the day. So I just try to do what i can on my off days even though i can't start a routine that i really like.

Maybe we can learn together?

Thanks! I'm super excited about this! You know I think at your age if you just make good choices the majority of the time you're going to be fine. BUT - do start a healthy work out habit now so when you're older you won't have as hard of a time getting use to it like me.....

Burning, they just opened a new club here and are having a special right now so for $50 a month, I get a trainer, a diet plan and all that jazz and just a 6 month commitment. So basically, it was perfect and I couldn't afford NOT to do it.

Washed the car after dinner in addition to my work out.

I'm bushed. And starting to get sore.....upper body work out tomorrow!

I didn't get to work out a lot today because I was re-organizing some stuff and cleaning the baseboards. I've had a hard time keeping on schedule lately.

I'm going to try to cut down to 20-30g of added sugar or less and maybe under 60g of carbs.
