2010 Ford Taurus

Does it piss anyone else off that ford decided to launch a Taurus that can produce 350 something hp? I know that it probably wieghts almost a thousand pounds more than our cars but still I thought they would have put twin turbos on a mustang before a taurus. If I'm mistaken about this please correct me beacuse I would love to be wrong.

The Taurus is a remake. The SHO was available a long time ago as a sport sedan. The idea isn't new just the engine and power development.

Besides I heard in 2011 that the Mustangs were getting a new engine. I think 275 hp from a 3.7L?

well first... this has nothing to do with the 4.0 tech

and the SHO is a remake like RFM saids..

it is 365hp i believe ecoboost TT'd.. family sedan..

and its like 35k+

lol i would not buy one but its different for the previous SHO owner's...

You do realize that Ford is already putting that TT V6 in the Lincoln versions of the Edge and Fusion, too, right? It's not a new motor for the SHO. Heck, it's available in just about every V6 car Ford makes *except* the Mustang, and I'll be surprised if that changes. Your average new Mustang buyer who's interested in more power than what the V6 offers wants a V8, not a boosted sixxer.

Me? I'd rather take the boosted sixxer. But I like my Mustangs to handle, and a V6 car has better weight balance.

ive heard its rumored to be a GT option, and the V6 will get a "new" 3.7L DOHC

I think Ford was prepared to drop the V8 from the GT if gas prices kept increasing. Certainly don't know that for fact, though.

I'd love to see a new SVO based on the ecoboost, but I just don't see it happening, at least not in any fashion that I would actually find worth purchasing.

i wouldn't mind seeing the SVO again. that would be cool.

They could parts bin an SVO really easily right now. Ford owns part of Mazda, and Mazda has a Turbo 2.3L that's used in the Mazdaspeed3 that puts out something over 250hp (I think 263?). Just put it in a stripped down base model with a 6-speed, 3.73s, and the handling pack, and price it between the V6 and GT.
