Yeah I posted a bunch of those a long time ago.

Lotta people don't realize how much power even an average class 8 diesel engine makes.

We run a small to average power engine where I work. It's a 12.5 liter Caterpillar, and it makes 350 horsepower.... and 1300 lb-ft of torque.

These engines can be modified relatively easily to develop massive amount of power and torque. 1000 hp and 2000 lb-ft is not all that difficult.

Ha!

Not even close. The 425 Cat was one of the best diesel engines ever. No comapart compares to any Cat.

ive worked on a ISX cummins a couple times at school they are 1 hell of a engine but they have all that emmisions bullshit on them like the DPF (diesel particulit filter) its half cat half build up filter the ISX cummins has diesel fuel squirted into there and a heated coil to burn off the excess build up. Also there is a guy that perfects Cummins diesels i cant remember where but he tried to pull more hp out of this beast and got about 40 hp and thats it. The ISX is perfected to its extent of power from factory. But it does have three tunes for power depending on the truck and what they might be towing, i cant remember the numbers but the just step up each time til the last which is the maximum.
