Who thinks the world is going to end? We are supposed to have a polar shift, but I don't think that is going to kill everyone.

mayan calender. no i don't think the world will end. if it were going to happen any time soon, it would have happened in 2008 when obama was elected. although the bible does speak of a false prophet.

^ not shitting on anyones religion, I don't invest too much value in the bible, because of my point of view. Also I really don't think everyone is going to die. And I really believe in destiny, but I think there are choices to predetermined paths, and there is always a way out of a shitty situation.

if we have a north/south switch we are going to be in real trouble IMO, but i dont think anything is gonna happen.

naw we learned about the poles switching in physics...and were due for one. and we have survived it before thats what the ice ages was all about. i forget but i think that when the poles switch, our magnetic field weakens so the suns intense raiation hits us really hard, causing the planet to get hott-ish. they say its like starting to happen, and thats what real global warming could be all about...but they definetely said were overdue for a pole switching. and it happens really fast.

there was a dude in a video pointing at this layered cliff. theres a bunch of layers that formed it from lava flow upon lava flow, and all have a high iron concentration. he said they changed between two flows. he put a compass next to on and it pointed north, moved it down about a foot along the cliff and the needle rotated 180 degrees. hella trippy

Same here except it was my Archeology professor.

Here's my guess for what happens (not based off of any facts, beliefs, or theories, just total bullshit guess just for the hell of it), our economy starts to bounce back OR (something a little more realistic) Hitler comes back and we gotta fight Nazi zombies to survive.

2012 polar shift... could happen. but as far as the mayan calender, that doesnt predict the end of the world in 2012.. thats just when their calender ends.. like december 31st for us.

Polar shifts have been happening since the beginning of time. Its already started again in a new cycle. I think it will make for some great looking night skys with the auroras and all. Beyond that, some birds will get lost and thats about it.

I remember people who invested thousands of dollars in 1999. They built bunkers and stocked up on cases of Chef Boyardee in anticipation for the meltdown of society at midnight. Never happened.

I think its really neat that the entire generation of living humans thinks we are so fucking special right now. Its like the only time that ever exsisted is "right now". Its almost arrogant. We get a little smart and suddenly we are ready to predict our fate with absolute certainty. One thing is for sure and its not our ability to predict our death...its the almost unreal ability of the human race to survive and overcome.
