I'd expect about 18,000 for a garaged vehicle with miles that low! GO FOR IT!

Well if it didn't have the 351c in it 12,500 would be negotiable, but with the engine, it is a good deal.

Just ask for a few more pics and then buy!

Its a nice car and probably worth asking price but if I remember correctly, Stroker408 (aka. Nosman) Bought a shelby convertible of a similar year model in MINT condition for 10,500 last year.

Not everyone can get that lucky. Seriously though, if you have the money it is a definate steal.

10,500 is an AMAZING deal, this is a Good deal. A pretty good deal at that, IT IS WORTH IT!!!

so i looked it up in some price guides and it does look like a decent price IF it is in very good shape. so I want to konw what to ask the guy (i wouldnt buy without seeing in person first, but i want to know what to ask via email just to get an idea of what its like)

so with that year/model car, is there anything that i shuold specifically ask about? anything on it prone to breaking that i shuld look into?

edit more info from seller ( i had asked about under the hood and the body):

Everything under is in good condition.
Engine does not need work or replacement ...had tune ups every year until the mechanic told me to stop since I did not put enough mileage to warrant it.
Only 1 problem I noticed was, not driving enough does cause issue....so I start the car every 2-3 weeks and let it run for 45 minutes.
The car has a couple of scratchs, rear quarter something inside the trunk fell over and knocked a the side about an inch long.
Front bumper has a few small scratch's as well....road rocks etc.
Belts and gaskest are fine
Frame is in perfect condition ..no accidents......bumpers have been taken off for paininting so if its off a little...it just needs to be adjusted..I never noticed what you mention.
There has been minor rust in places...when I had it painted ...had new metal welded in.
Its a single exhaust..351 cleveland..2 barrel

The replacement of the floor pan and quarterpanels gives the impression that the car was a rust victim at one time and that along witht the color change would deter me from giving asking price. Although Im a haggler by nature, I couldnt help but wonder if I got screwed if I paid full asking price, especially if youre going to try and flip it for a profit.

If it were me and I reeeaallly wanted the car, I would offer about 1500-2000 less than asking and try to work from there.

probably not a bad price. depends on several items though. Is he willing to have the car professionally appraised? How severe was the rust? any pics of the cqar in the body work/paint stage? Can the use of THIS car be documented in the ads or was it just one that looked like this one?
He also states that letting it sit has created a few problems, so he starts it every 2-3 weeks now. What kind of problems? dried/cracked seals are common causing water leaks, oil leaks, etc...... I'd have it looked over real well by a professional appraiser before I plunked down the cash. Might be a wolf in sheep's clothing.

i was thinking someone would say that. how much does an appraisal cost? (and what if its appraised at more than the asking price, do i get screwed?? hehe)

as far as rust, he said (in that post above) that there was minor rust but had new metal welded in.

where do i find out about getting one appraised to begin with?

he needs to define "minor rust" though. The early Fords usually rust from the inside out due to uncoated metal on the panels when stamped and welded together. As for the appraisal, contact the Mustang Club of America nad they can recommend someone knowledgable about Mustangs in your area or try the local insurance companies.
