come to think about it now you guys are right my little bro is the same age as he is and just started college this semester i think my GT is to powerful for him so i know a cobra would be insane but then again my brother still doesn't have much driving experience i dont know his experience but i still know a teen with that much power does not equal a good thing id listen to fluff here he is right on his posts insurance is going to be immensely high since your under 25 i suggest the 10 GT its more up your alley and it better looking than the 05-09 GT's imo and is still an amazing machine plus it will be under warranty and there is already several mods out there for it

Alright just so everyone knows, I can handle the power. I bought a 89 gt a couple months ago with a stroker motor. My dad is buying me a car because I earned a schoalorship to University of Florida, so he is using my college money to buy me a car. I am not spoiled at all, in fact I buy all my stuff. My dad just thought for all the stuff I've been put through over the last 4 years (family stuff) that I deserve it. My uncle's girlfriend has a 2003 cobra that She let me drive last night. I'm gonna be honest that car was way more fun to drive then the 09 gt I drove last week. I don't really like the 2010 style but that's just opinion. I knocked out the 2010 I just don't like it, so now it's between the cobra and gt. I'm leaning towards the cobra, but I like the interior on the 09 better.

Forgot to mention. I've been driving since I was 15. I have also been racing dirtbikes since I was 3 if that counts lol. Well insurance wise yeah I know it's bad, but I was talking to my dad and he said I can go on his plan like all my sisters did, long as I keep up with the payments. Oh yeah and I got a job. Only problem is I gotta get a new job up there but I know someguy that said I can work full time at his auto paint shop.

I would personally buy the car you felt most comfortable in. Don't worry about what anyone else thinks about you, comfort first, status last. I wish I had that opportunity when I graduated. I'm still driving the truck I did in high school (7 years later). Get the car you want, respect it, give thanks for it and have fun (safely).

Personally, if he had, i wouldn't have gotten much use out of it. I don't even take my v6 to college let alone an 10' gt or a 04 cobra.

I could afford the cobra if I wanted to, but my dad offered. If he wants to buy me one I should take it while I still can. My dad just believes it's a good idea because I have to pay for law school.

psh, id rather just him pay for law school. Interest on school loans is going to suck.

But cobra for sure.

I own a 05-09 Gt and I still say cobra. I think I would trade mine for a cobra, in a heartbeat.

Interest on school loans suck? Last time I checked school loan interest rates were lower than auto loan rates, especially on a used car.

Except that student loans gain interest while you're not making payments on them while they're defered. Four to fice years of defering payments builds interest, especially on upwards of $1,500 semesters (Southeastern Louisiana University.) With minimum payments in the neighborhood of $60 and with people tempted to only meet minimums, student loans can get stretched out and become a pain especially if you don't land a decent paying job immediately.

How much are law school loans going to be? over 50k? I'm already in over 75k, so id much rather have a 20k check to put towards that than a car i don't need.

You obviously have to have some sort of financial discipline with any loan.

Obviously the smart choice for you would be to put that money towards your debt, but the kid has a scholarship so why not treat yourself to something nice for the hard work you've put in.

So lets say you put in that 20k towards the loans.

If you dont keep up on them , the interest alone can build up enough to basically make that 20k useless.

Id rather have the car to get bitches and have them pay my bills.

Dont put it towards loans, get then 04 cobra. Live it Love it Respect it.

I don't see why you should put it towards the loans cause you will still be in debt, but with no car.

If its the other way at least you are still rocking a badass car while in debt.

I'm stuck between the cobra and 2009 gt. I am gonna be driving a lot of miles. So which one will probably hold up the best? I'm gonna be going to the strip also.

I cant speak for cobras, but s197's are pretty strong. 41k miles on mine and no real problems.(2006)

I know cobras tranny and block are practically invincible.
