2-[(-3)-(4+6)]
2-[13]=15

So if there is a - sign outside of the brackets it automatically becomes an addition problem? I understand its an addition problem if it is like 2-[-13] but they don't go over enough examples in my book to help me when it is 2-[13]

Honestly, it just looks like 2-13.

[13] just seperates it from the equation above.

Which doesnt equal 15....hmmm

2-[(-3)-(4+6)]
2-[(-3)-10]
2-[13]
=11?

Dont make sense to me
2-[13]=15

book gives me the answers it is 15.
I initially had the answer as 5 lol (-3)-(10) = 7 in my stupid head so 2-[7] would =5 but its wrong.

Order of operations doesnt apply because its only -/+.

So unless the brackets define it otherwise, id have to say the books wrong.

Oh well here are the steps
(13b-6)-4(3b+4)=-3 (distribute 4 to 3b and 4)
(13b-6)-12b-16=-3 (subtract 12b from 13b and add -16 to -6)
b-22=-3 (add 22 to -3)
b=19
