Well I got grease on my shirt today.. Its my moms favorite shirt, so I HAVE To get if off, also go it on some jeans. What setting do I put the washer on to wash these two things before my mom gets home?

heavy or reg, which is prob 14 min, if you have spray and wash spray the shit out of it and rub it in, or if you have that orange soap shit to get grease off your hands it works on clothes too if you rub it in

Try baking Soda and water on the stains, rub that shit in until you can notice the stain disappearing , then wash it on warm. Heavy duty,

Dawn works on shit like that. Or you can use the liquid detergent full strength on that area. If neither work, there are these things in little tiny yellow bottles called stain devils or some shit. Those things work wonders.

Well, I took the stain remover that is sitting on the washer, and soaked the valve cover gasket print on it... and put it in the washer... we will see in the morning if it goes away... LOL

Matt..hope you figured it out.

Its probably too late but here's what I would have done.

First, NEVER put oil based anything in the washer (you take the risk of it getting on the walls of the washer and spreading to other clothes..and definately dont put it into the dryer)...wash it by hand if you have to. You need to try and scrape as much off as possible with a popscicle stick or something. Then use boiling or super hot water to try and make the oil viscous enough to run off the fabric as much as possible without getting it anywhere else on the material. Use a paper towel or other absorbant material to try and "blot" up as much as possible as well. Its all about containment man.

Be carefull with some chemicals that break down oils because alot of shirts have lots of oils in the fabrics. You could end up damaging the shirt worse.

Oil is a bitch and there is no soap that gets out everything so dont believe the hype. The best thing is to understand one important thing. The difference between a "stain" and a "spot" is TIME. Get to trying to get it out ASAP before it sets in.

You may be better off buying a new shirt for her and never letting her know.

Scrub it with liquid dish soap before tossing it in the washer... This will take care of it.

Dish soap also is the best thing for getting grease off your skin as well.

yeah just don't ever use dishwashing detergent, since that has bleach in it.
