Hey, i've got a n 01 v6 autu. I gotta say, for only being a four speed automatic, it can move. I've won a couple of races against decent cars. Personally i'd go with the manual just because it's so much better to shift, just gives you that feeling that you're racing, but an automatic will do just about as good as a manual.

I prefer the manual, it just involves me so much more in driving the car.As for what is faster, in your average to serious street car, a manual with a good driver will usually be faster than an automatic car of the same model. This is an age old debate, and I'm sure some agree & some disagree with me, and you can go google this topic and find arguments for both sides.
Most tech articles I have read on this find that the auto actually puts a bit more power to the wheels, but the stick still gets the car moving faster.
I'll try and dig the magazines out, cuz I can't remember all the hows & whys of this.
In any event, no matter who is right or wrong, in a street car, the difference in acceleration between manual & automatic is minimal, and usually comes down to driver skill.I love my manual, and would have nothing but in a performance car. There is nothing more enjoyable to me than rowing through the gears in a powerful car and feeling the car respond when you nail the shifts perfectly.
