Serious decision here!

I have a unique opportunity here...
I currently own a 2000 v6 automatic
I have the opportunity to trade it for a 2000 v6 manual

it took me 2 months to find this v6 manual...
so I'm sure these aren't too common.

1) one dealership owner said a v6 manual is a deathwish... any reason he may have said that?

2) if i put in a few upgrades (+ 60 hp) and floor it, would the auto transmission wreck really easily?

3) which is better in a race? auto or manual? (street race not always drag)

4) the joy of driving stick aside, which would you guys pick?

allrighty... the dealer doesn't want your car he thinks he could get better of some other idiot kids

the auto tranny in that car is pretty strong... and it would just need a converter upgrade... to do 60 horse power

auto is faster in a race... cause quicker shifts...

stick cuz i fall asleep driving autos...

its your call ... i would go with what ever has lower miles... imo but i think i would go with the stick

Power mods don't care if it's auto or manual generally

1) total bs.... he must be used to driving a civic or maybe he was on crack.
2)by wreck do you mean fuck up the tranny? no
3)stock for stock manual. but a tuned auto with a shift kit and all that good stuff can be a monster
4)manual all the way.

not stock, because it shifts at too low of rpms.

its a B&M shift kit. it makes it where the shifts are much harder, and makes it where when you manually shift theres not the lag. theyre pretty cheap i believe. im not an auto guy so your gonna have to wait for one of them for the rest.

Is there any way I can use a tuner chip to actively control the gear shifting? (like a tiptronic transmission)

be weary of sunroofs. they dont come stock so they might leak.

you dont want a chip, i suggest getting a tuner. but with a tuner or chip you could

a chip is permanent and a tuner you can change settings whenever you want.

nope xcal is what you want. the only other one i know of is diablo and not half as good. if you dont go manual you miss out on dropping gears voluntarily, and you get better gas mileage in standard, as long as you drive normal. and with an auto you have to pay to get it up to par with a manual, but once its up there its better than a manual, per se

If your young he called it a death wish because he probably don't think you can drive.

the auto tranny is plenty strong

stock for stock with a good driver stick, but an auto with a shiftkit like stated before on equal cars will beat a stick every time in the shifts

shift kit from B&M is a improvement kit, a torque converter, and a shifter PM me and I can give you alot more info on them

get what you think you would like driving more a stick is fun but the auto is not as annoying in town. Also if you want to go turbo ever an auto will hold boost better.
