Projects......
Hey guys, I close to finished making delete plates out of our stock charge motion plates earlier today(off of our 2007 Mustang GT/CS). It took about an our to grind down the butterfly retaining pins so the butterflies would come off. I still have to drill to and tap out the retaining pin that holds the butterfly actuating rod in place(metal piece that the butterflies rotate on).
What projects are you all working on lately? Last edited by unlicensed to drive; October 7th, 2009 at 12:01 AM. |

That sucks, but good luck. It'll just be even more gratifying once you finish your build.

I've just decided that after my dad brings the drill home this weekend and lets me use it to finish the plates, I'm going to port/polish them.
I'll start with porting them with a sandpaper dremel bit, then I'll polish them with a polishing wheel, and finally I'll put apply a coat of metal polish.

why would you port a charge motion delete plate? and why would you even considering polishing them? N/A motors actually you do not want a polished finish on the heads/intake... you need some turbulence to get the velocity up in the engine.

Oh ok I had no idea about that, thanks for the info. I would port them so they would be better matched port wise to the heads. These aren't going on our car since we already have some installed. I'm either going to sell them or keep them just to show off a project that I did. I may still port them, but I don't think I'll polish them as you said that N/A engines like some turbulance. |
