Never!

I think the majority of the blown engines were in the autos which had the crappy, 4 port engines, the manuels have the 6 sport engines, and most of them are pretty tough.

port count doesn't matter, every 50k-80k miles your apex seals will go out and the easiest way to fix that is just replace the whole thing... thats why I no longer have my fc3s

My 86 FC, had 170K miles on it with no rebuild and ran fine until the day it was totaled in an accident. I've owned a few RX-7s and never really had an apex seal problem unless I did something really stupid, like too much boost
