I added a picture/logo to the report template for work, and I need to lock it somehow where it cannot be removed/altered, is there a way to do this?

Just the picture or the entire document? If you want to protect the entire document, pdf it and use the protect document feature.

Or tools -> protect document.

Yeah, thats the only way your going to be able to do it. Otherwise I dont see a way to just lock one pic in a word doc.

I just thought about something...I think that if he does a protected pdf on the image itself and then inserted that in word, wouldn't that work?

No, because if you protect it first you wont be able to copy it to word because of the protection. As the others said, i would provide it as a protected pdf.

Well then this one has me stumped...he needs the logo protected, but still needs to allow others to modify the template. There has to be a way to lock just the logo.

I just pdf'd a picture and protected it, then inserted it in word...works for me and looks like I can not modify it. But I can copy and paste it, so I don't think that will work.

You may want to insert the picture in the header and go in and modify the protection restrictions. that may work.

You can create a form and protect it to only allow form editing in the spaces you want.
