I was 100 miles south of my house today doing business in Fort Myers. When I was done with my client, I decided to stop at Best Buy and grab a CD for the boring ride home. Unfortunately they didnt have what I was looking for so I walked up to Target in the same parking lot. They didnt have it either.

Oh well, back to the truck and head home.....so I thought. When I got to my truck the battery was dead. My charger is in the garage of course and I dont have cables. So I went back into Target and asked the security dude if he could help and of course, he couldnt. I went back to the automotive and found this little battery thing that was supposed to charge your battery from inside the truck through the lighter. It comes pre charged and ready to go. I bought it went back to my truck and hooked it up. No good! Piece of shit.

So I walk back to Best Buy and ask the security guy there. I explained to him I had to get back to my town to pick up my son from school. He said he wasnt allowed to leave the building on the clock. Just as I was about to leave, he says "hold up....fuck it, go buy some cables at target and meet me in the parking lot and I'll give you a jump".

I went back bought the cables and sure enough he comes around the corner in his truck. Nobody else would help me but this guy would. He had this older Dodge pick up truck. The truck was a bit dirty and run down looking except for one thing that stuck out big time. Amongst all the dirt and dents was the most perfectly polished shiny red license plate on the front bumper. It said "PROUD U.S. MARINE". I about shit my pants. As usual, when the rest of the world is being a "pussy" its a Marine that takes the risk to help out a complete stranger. My truck started right up. He told me he served in Iraq for 4 years and now works as security for Best Buy.

I took my last 10 bucks and offered it to him and he said "no way I can take that". So I balled it up and threw it in his window onto the floor on the otherside of him so he couldnt try to reach it.


I just wanted to share this because its yet another wonderful example of what our service people do....even away from war.

I always try to help people but most people arent like that. This guy broke the rules to give me a hand and I just thought it was cool he ended up being a Marine. I still think all people should have to serve a minimum of one year in the service of their choice after graduation.

I stopped the other day mom, dad, and gf went to dinner on the way back old couple had flat tire told mom to pull over...

Went up knocked on the window older guy kinda worried I said just pop your trunk sir Ill get the tire out for ya and change them you dont even have to come out side the car.

They popped the trunk I changed the tire put the old one back in, told them they would need a new tire and hope they have a good day. He got out and shook my hand said thank you very much son.

yes and no, im not on regular shift but i ha ve extra duty, but i usually get done around 3-5, and i can try to get the truck they contract out for us, cause i dont ever ride bitch, not even when i was little 4 wheelin with my dad. and i never will lol.
