id get the first one that you threw up there. Mine has about 125 and is still running strong, nothing major ever repaired or replaced, just the usuall sensors. Stayed current with all maintenance, myself, and everything is good.

I figured after taxes to be safe i took off 40% so 6,000 after basic. 3,000 and then another 3,000. I will have about 3,000 saved up if not more before basic. my mom is going to loan me the amount for the mustang and i will pay her back just like i got a loan from a bank just no interest. I am looking for something under 6,000 dont mind if its a simple fixer upper because i have 2 mechanics that will help me for free. my job is beging me not to go to the researves for fear of loosing me. so i have a job when i get back no matter what. and if they decide not to hire me back i may go work for my grand father in florida doing metal work which is what i am goiing in the army for.

Im pretty set on a mustang not much leway unless somebody shows me a car for under 2,000 that is not a fixer uper and gets better gas mileage. I am going to be going to Harford Comunitee Collage and work so its an everyday traveler. again no mods so what ever i buy is staying that way unless something needs replaced then i may think about modding it. Not very likely.

Thanks for all the help guys good opinions and no ricer jokes yet. lol

yeah, my cobra cost the same amount. I know you said your not looking for a GT but new-edge GT's are going for relatively low prices as well.

True its funny how people join tho cause of the ever so elusive 20K signing bonus. Then they get outa boot and a few months later get a check for 10K and are like WTF! then get sent to the sandbox for a year after thinking they where just in the "reserves"

That's exactly what my friend did. Went through everything, got his check, bought a Cobra, put the rest towards college and rent.

But then he found out he was headed to iraq

What generation? New or used if Gen5 or 6? Everyday driving, 2nd car, pleasure only?

I think money is an issue for you - might to try a used model V6. I dont know about your area, but used 1996-2001s go for between $2000-$3300 here with < 110k.

GTs of the same year are normally $3000-$7000. Look for something under $5k though IMHO. You might be upgrading fast!

I say no to verts. Pay more for less of a roof makes no sense to me.

that sucks...

i signed 3 year contract, so i have 6 year inactive. but i think im gonna join NG/reserves for 3-6 years and collect another 20k+ re up bonus. i mean its whatever, and from what i understand you wont deploy if your full time college student NG.

and 11b is fun i wouldnt mind shooting and blowing stuff up 2 days a month or however they do it lol

i have so many choices, dont know what i want to do yet honestly. il know when time comes

i get out when im 20.. so eh

and for you numbkilla, if your going into reserves, wait awhile before you buy anything with that bonus. alot of finanial problems happen sooner than later. so wait til you have the cash IN HAND, and make sure everythings on paper or you wont see a dime.

Did you not understand no mods.

Anyway Drick y did you copy my post and just enlarge part of it. I also know about making sure everything is on paper everyone i know is drilling into my head supprisingly even the recruiter. MAKE SURE IT IS ON PAPER BECAUSE IF IT IS NOT IT ISNT GOING TO HAPPEN. ALSO READ EVERYTHING ON YOUR CONTRACT IF I DONT LIKE IT AT MEPS I CAN JUST WALK AWAY AND GO BACK SOME OTHER TIME OR GO A DIF BRANCH.

I also mentioned that my mom will loan me the money up front and i will pay her back if it is under 3k i can pay for it without my bonus if not i will need to take the loan.

Here is my priority list tell me what you think.

1) car and job (kinda need both just the same cant gt to work without a car and cant pay for the car if i dont have a job.)
2) Going to meps and getting into basic and ait.
3) collage (even if it is comunittee collage for 2 years then maybe a real collage.)
4) getting a better steady job or going active. (dont mind getting shiped off to iraq and i know i say that now and may hate it there but wont regret going.)
5) getting a house and moving out (had the same idea as Airborne11B def a nice forclosed home again even if its a fixer upper i know like 5 construction workers one of which is my step dad.)

That is my plan so far i also plan on using excel to manage my money and figure out what i can afford with my income after tax's and still have at least 100 dollars to save each pay check.

Hopefully you'll learn to spell college in college Sorry I had to lol

Also I dont mean to sound like a dick here just showing you options. Cause i was in your shoes at one time just a few years ago.

You have 100 dollars to save from each check right?

Well I dont know about you but I dont like to sit on my ass at home 24/7 I like to go out to the movies with friends. Take chicks out to dinner and buy fast food on the road when im hungry. Plus gas for the car and whatever other toys you wanna buy. New cd that came out, clothes, mabey a new game for a game system etc.....

Anyway your 100 dollars saved a check will not go very far.
