Every time I look up the new mustangs coming out, I see 5L./400HP what I can't find is if it is going back the push rod motors, or is it a stroked 4.6L, or what? Has anyone heard anything on the new motors?

I can't see it going back to pushrod, especially now that DOHC is around. Less drag.

It actually produced 468 hp on the engine dyno. Get ready for a very underrated mustang boys. 11:0 compression ratio which will make this a N/A monster plus improves gas milage and it will finally have a 6 speed.

from what i hear they will be coming out with a prototype twin turbo mod 5.0 in the gt 500 for 2011, CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT. If i was only rich!

I have heard about the twin turbo GT500. You know who else is doing it. BMW and it's M5. They are dropping the V10 and adding a V8 TT...

I've heard the 5.0TT rumor but I can't see them doing it when they are going to do an aluminum block next year for the GT500. They won't make a block for one year it's not feasible.

Well just speculation on my part, but they would have to either use the 3.75 crank with the stock bore, or the 3.70 bore like the boss block uses to get to the 5.0L mark. I would guess they would use the aluminum boss block first.
I know it is not a engine dyno, but I plugged in numbers from my build into a desk top dyno, and it gave me about 460hp. Built stroker 4.6L, trick flow heads, big cams, and 11.5:1. I could see them getting close to 400rwhp with a 5.0L using 4v heads. Either way, it will be a force to be recconned with. |

This new 5.0 block is going to be diffrent from the 4.6/5.4 mod block they use now it's not going to be a bored and stroked 4.6

That would be an interesting 4V w/o DOHC. The only other way if not pushrod would be opening and closing valves by means of solenoids. That technology in the domestic realm is still down the road.

i dont remember sorry mate. all i know is that its going to be sohc 4v 5.0L. wait wait wait why couldnt a sohc be able to open 2 valves at a time? i mean it is really odd to think about i guess but i didnt think it would be that big of a deal. i thought that they would just synchronize the opening of the intake and exhaust valves somehow when the camshaft opens them.

Ford is coming back with a 5.0 pushrod motor in 2011 if chevy don't switch to a non pushrod motor
