People just piss me off sometimes.
Ok, I'm a Ford guy. Bad as it is to say I work with a bunch of damn GM freaks, one in especially is all hardcore. Talks shit about how much junk Fords and Mustangs are. Said he owned a Mustang once for like a week and cost him a pocket of money, and said he'd never own another one. But now he went and got a '93 LX 4 banger. I mean people don't make sense. I asked him why he got, I was like, "Did you finally get smart and ditch the shity GM's"
(no I am not trying to offend anyone on here the likes GM's but I am trying to make a point). He said, "No I'm gonna put and LS1 in it." I swear thats how it goes people take a good car and fuck it up. My cousin gives him hell though about cross breeding his new car. My cousin told him the other day, "Thats about like some of you GM hardcore hardass, gotta have Ford parts to make your shity Chevy go fast!" I think it just pisses GM people off how well the little 4.6 makes the power it does when you put a lil boost on them in a light weight Mustang while there heavy Camaros have to have like 67 more cubic inches to make up for the extra weight. I ain't Fords fault GM built a heavy ass car, Ford just used there head and made light car with a small motor with tons of potential. Oh well I guess, he can put a Chevy motor in that car and pull all the Ford logos off of it but it will still say Ford Mustang on the title ![]() Sorry for the long post, but i'm curious if anyone else has this problem?

Yup my friend is a die hard GM/Chevy fan. He has a 1994 Chevy S10, we've done a lot of work on it. He originally wanted to take the 2.2 out and put in a LS1. He just recently picked up a Ford F150 with the 300 straight six. Now he's thinking about putting the 300 in the S10 and putting 302 or 347 in the F150! Even though he now owns a Ford he still trash talks them and loves his S10 which is falling apart.

Every die hard has some BS reason or another for their obsession. I love my mustang cause its light and handles well compared to other cars in its class. But I would love a engine like the LS1 that could put out 500 rwhp with a H/I/C swap. But ford went a different direction with their motor. And chevy discontinued the camaro for a few years.
I personally love ford trucks. And up untill 6 months ago when my ranger saved my life, I didn't really care that much, as long as it was ford, gmc or chevy I liked em. Now I'm pretty hard core Ford and bought a 05 f150 with a 5.4 in it. I still don't understand why anyone would ever buy a truck with the small engine. The 4.6 gets the same mileage as the 5.4, but its way weaker. WHY would ANYONE EVER BUY IT THEN?

OH yeah. There is another guy on here that has a LS1 powered stang. Not sure what his name is. There are also a couple of guys in the American Iron series that have switched over to LS1's. They are cheaper to maintain and keep working at high power than the Ford motors.

My friends dad is like that. My friend came over to my house when i bought my mustang (he owns a GTO) and he always tells me how bad ass my car is. im like dude buy one, your 21 and live on your own and make good money just sell the GTO. He keeps saying no my dad hates Fords he would disown me. its rediculous lol. and then i go to his dads house and his dad even said how he likes my mustang. GM nutswingers don't make sense

Most of the crap I hear is about tranny.. ford's not the best at getting the power to the wheels (supposibly?).... but hey, check out motor trends review of the 2010 Challenger RT, SS & GT ... yeah the GT wins.. sure the chevy has a quicker 1/4 (Stock) and the Challenger looks great (on the outside).. but that Dogde has like 80hp more than the GT to make up for weight..
My brother-in-law was trying to say Chevy was better because since the 5.0 has gone 'ford can't compete'.. yeah forget the fact that a stock 4.6 is putting out +300hp now.. and Chevey needs a larger motor.. To each his own, I've alway been a ford man, I have nothing against the others, but unless it's a Vette or other 'exotic' I won't buy GM/Dodge..

Kinda the same thing here but its more funny than anything. I happen to work at a gm dealership. The guys I work with are pretty non biased but there is this one hillbilly guy that is always complaining how junky everything is except for a gm and tells me I need to get a chevy blah blah blah. Anyways heres why I find it funny and im just like yea whatever.
He drives the most beat up ridiculous pos blazer you can image. To the extent that he needed new tires so he swapped all 4 wheels/tires off his with all 4 wheels/tires off a cash for clunker blazer we had sitting in the clunker pile. Backspacing was wrong so now they stick out like 3-4" past the fenders and quarters. We were slow one week so he gave it a quicky paint job with some spare paint we had laying around. He sprayed right over rust pits, rust, you name it. Basicly just scuffed it and taped the windows, handles, and emblems. Then we had a caddy come in the other day. Pretty nice car and he was saying how much of a pos it was etc. Then 2 hours later hes out in the clunker pile looking for some parts for his junk and saying how nice some truck is how could someone get rid of it etc when half the bed side was all rotted out etc. |

fords are junk, no way around it. it takes boost to make the "light weight mustang" little motor hang with a "heavy" GM. the lsx motors are very very stout, the modulars can not compete against that. i respect the fords a lot more now that i own 1, but they are still (imo) shit.
even a a GM guy likes a notch. me included.

always been a gm fan, had trouble with every ford i have had my hands on. this mustang is the first i havent had trouble with that wasnt inflicted by me.
i would also take a focus over a new camaro, well.........if it wee an svt focus.

I love my mustang to death. I like how it looks, how it performs, and how it rides. I'll always own a mustang if I can help it. By no means am I brand biased when it comes to the big three. The Challenger is a good cruising car because of its weight. Hate me for it but I like how the Camaro looks, and above all... I bleed Ford Blue. If I had the bankroll... I'd get all three.
However, if it isn't German... then fuck imports.

i would take a trans am (1998 or up) over my stang anyday. But only if i didn't already have a stang, because i like mine right now.
I almost bought a red LS1 trans am before i got this thing. I was short a few hundred bucks.

I've got a friend that is a diehard Civic fan. He swears his little 2005 Civic Si with a Vtech is the greatest thing in the world. As far as I've seen, that thing puts out 160bhp@6500rpm. That thing wouldn't hold up even to a stock new edge unless it was modded. Not only that, he's got it in his mind that removing his cats will get him an extra 80hp. I guess that's sort of the mentality you need if you've got an oversized muffler tip that rides dangerously close to the ground.
I'll admit, I'm a huge Mustang fan. But I know there are cars that will beat ours and I'm not going to pretend I have the best car on the road. Especially since I've got a sixxer. Last edited by mcqueen; November 6th, 2009 at 01:04 AM. |

Meh my whole family are GM people. All the track cars are GM, but they ended up liking the sixxer once they started helping me mod it. (I couldn't get that rearend up on the stand by myself
) lolz they all said they'll stick with the chevy's but they'll accept the sixxer in the gang now.
