So, while my stang is hard down I'm driving my 85' Toyota Landcruiser which tops out around.... the speed limit. So while I'm stuck driving Northern California's highways at 65mph I have started to take note of who speeds the most. When I first started I thought I would find that something German or like tuner cars would be the worst violators. I was wrong! Bar none without even a shadow of a doubt I have noticed that the worst violators of the speed limit have been Toyota Prius drivers. Not only do they all speed around but they drive like jackasses! I think its a combination of the "who pulls over a prius?" mentality, the "I'm better than you because I drive an activistmobile" and the fact that they look like the new Civic Si's. I obviously haven't done any surveys but I'd really like to know WTF is wrong with them. My new thing is to look for a Prius that isn't driving like a clown and no joke, less than 1 out of every 10 Prius owners drive normally.

Has anyone else noticed this trend or am I just crazy???

Well, let's think about this.

Prius owners are hypocrites.

They preach "Recycle; Reduce; Reuse", but they bought a NEW car rather than REUSING an old one, and they use the mileage as an excuse to drive everywhere rather than REDUCING their driving by using public transportation and bicycles. (Yes, I'm a BIG fan of public transportation - it takes hippies out from behind the wheel and puts them in the passenger seat where they belong. It removes unecessary commuter traffic, freeing up the roads for those of us that ENJOY driving, in turn creating less of a demand for boring-ass appliances and more of a demand for driver's cars).

They scream about how they're saving the Earth due to their superior fuel economy and their reduction in the use of resources, but you almost never see more than one person in a Prius. This means that they could've ridden a motorcycle, which gets better mileage, uses less resources to make, and doesn't use batteries of which one of the main components comes from strip mining.

Save the Earth. Keep driving your Mustang!

Haha, cleverly put and ironic but there are rebuttals. For example you can buy a used Prius seeing as they have been out since '07? I believe (True in 07 though I suppose). Also a with a motorcycle come the added risk factors as well as passenger capacity.

I have noticed that in Northern CA the Prius drivers drive just as you have described! they "Rice" Through traffic... A LOT.

As if I planned to. I'm currently a stock 6 with exhaust and wheels..... I would have put forth any effort my little 6 could give me to get beside him and put said heavy object into his rear quarter panel.

Those diesels are nothing to take lightly trust me on that. Steves had just a mild tune. Completely stock everywhere else though and it hauled some serious ass.

I tend to put my foot down MUCH MORE OFTEN AND MORE RADICAL, when I know there is a window down on a "fuel saver", hybrid, or prius... Also if there is an OBAMA sticker or a PEACE sticker or anything that would leed me to believe they were a Tree Hugger....

i hardly drive at school so i don't see much cars. but i did see the other weekend a prius that had 2 different rims on the car. the front two were the same and the back two were the same. it was really weird. it looked like the front was stock but the back was aftermarket
