I only upgraded to it 3 months ago. I'm saying that winmo 6.5, the newest version hasn't yielded any problems for me what so ever.

Iphone's touch keyboard is better then any actual keyboard I have used. Any winmo phone has had some sort of problem, either freezing or lagging and what not. And those are all the facts that I have experienced first hand. With that being said i like the Iphone, Its proven. Its reliable. Its strong.

I am waiting to see this droid, But like crick said I think it will fail. Lets hope not, I would love to have some more excellent phones to choose from and play with.

Another reason I want the droid to make it big is because the Iphone will then have to up the ante.

It can fail for the simple reason of marketing. Nothing about functionality. You just don't say you are here to compete with the iPhone. Apple did extremely well with the phone, because they used what they have been using, and just put it in a phone...that and money and lots of it.

I voted Droid, but that's only because I'm itching to get my hands on a phone using the Android OS.

My SO has an iPhone, my best friend has an iPhone, and several coworkers have an iPhone. They all love them, and for 9 out of 10 people out there, it's probably the best phone you can get right now.

I personally won't buy one. Not because they aren't a great phone, but because I'm not going to pay AT&T their mandated $30/month iPhone data plan for the pleasure of having Apple dictate what programs they will and won't allow on my phone. That, and even after using one, I prefer the tactile feel of the keyboard on my HTC TyTn (8525) for text messaging, which is 75% or better of my phone use.

Of course, all of this iPhone talk is irrelevant if you're on Verizon.

HTC makes good phones, but they're Windows Mobile. Windows Mobile is actually a lot better than people make it out to be and until Android came out, was the closest thing you got to an "open" OS for your phone. There are apps EVERYWHERE for it, you just don't have them all collated in a nice, neat, branded app store.

I'm not really familiar with Blackberries. I never cared for their old form factor, and I'm assuming the OS is just as proprietary as Apple's. I've heard that they're much more secure than any other phone OS, though, and until the iPhone were the popular platform for the business crowd.

The DRoid isn't an iphone but i look at the comparison and they basically have all the same features. and the droid has a lot more free apps. wait until the droids been out a few months before you guys talk shit. and remember. its verizon. the Iphone isn't an option. you can't really compare them

It is marketed towards competition of the iPhone so yes we can compare them. Carrier has nothing to do with what it is marketed towards. I am speaking from the technical side of experience of which brand makes more solid phones. Honestly. Moto...sucks. They might have gotten it right this time...but I'm not holding my breath.

Do you guys think there will be a Massive line outside the store for the Droid tomorrow or people camping out tonight at 12 lol. God i hope not. I dont feel like waiting in line tomorrow morning. Verizon opens at 7. I think ill go at 8:00 before work.

But im hoping this Droid will be a success for Verizon. I've wanted an IPHONE ever since it came out. But Verizon never offered it, and im not paying for ATT's shitty coverage. But ill be pissed if this thing fails though specially after i sign the 2 year contract crap.

Its actually called the Shoales, the droid is just the OS. The reviews say its a great phone. And from what I have read they are working on another droid based phone that is supposed to release on black friday, this one wont have the actual keyboard, just a touch screen based phone.
