The way you do it, is by using the Critical points of the function, by using the First Derivative test. the first function you have to make up, because all it gives you is a rectangle (LxW) and how many sub sections....

So you will see those in the pictures. you do the first derivative of the function, and then set it to zero. that will give you the CPs. then if the orginal function is not a straight line, you got to determine if its a max or min, by seeing if the values plugged into the orginal function before and after the CPs give you a positive or a negative.

The area one, is just a straight line so there is not a way to do that...
