Good memories
Haha so veterans day I was missing my dad as some of you knew.... My gf is moving in with me so I was cleaning my room and what not and I came upon this essay I wrote for a college paper...
I wasnt on MM at the time so I dont think I have posted it. It is a good memory one of the best papers I have wrote so far. If you want to read it awesome if not no worries ![]() A Soldiers Dream As early as eighteen years of age, a young man joined the Navy to protect America's freedom. Fresh out of high school this young man was anxious to enlist into the military. He joined in hopes to travel the world and see many unique things and to learn as much as he could possibly learn. Making many friends along the way of his Navy career, he became a welder and a firefighter. This young man was one of the best welders on his ship at the time while overlooking many projects. he had many friends on his ship, the USS-Saratoga, and he had tons of fun with them as well. He sailed all around the sea, he even acquired a few special recognitions on his path. He received certificates for sailing into such parts as "The Arctic Circle" He went to many places he never dream of, such as Iceland, Greenland, Antarctica, Spain, Germany, all over the world. The young man participated with the running of the bulls. He also participated in his fair share of battles. Just a young man following his dream of being in the military, going up in rank as time progressed. he also had crazy times and even had been demoted over a big water gun fight involving a few of the upper ranking military personal. Almost six years into his career he met a lovely woman named Tammi he had already had one wife and a child, but soon divorced after things went downhill. Soon after is when he met Tammi, they quickly connected and wrote often as he was out to sea. After around four months he proposed to Tammi. Soon after they became married. He then attempted to become a Navy Seal, he was accepted. He was on top of the world. They attempted to have a child but sadly, the child was lost. They again tried hoping and praying to have a child. Their were severe complications, but the child was born. He was and still is the biggest preemie on record in Rhode Island. The downward spiral begins, after a faithful 14 years of his life to the US Navy he was honorably discharged. He was diagnosed with carpal tunnel a month after he got out of the Navy. Before that he had been diagnosed with carpal tunnel, but was never made aware of this. After being honorably discharged, he had gone to the VA hospital to get medical help. The VA doctors attempted surgery but they made a fatal mistake during the surgery. The pain now greater then before. He went back once more and the doctors told him he was fine and it was all psychological. Time after time the man went back to try and find someone to help him to believe him. All the doctor would do is give him painkillers and send him home. At last, a doctor says it "he was in serious trouble". The pain was not in his head it was real and far greater then he knew. The doctor started immediately trying to ease some of the pain, it was to late. The carpal tunnel had lead to RSD (reflex sympathy dystrophy), there was nothing the doctor could do except give him pain killers and offer what he could. Just a year later, on December 15th 1999 the once young man passed away in his sleep at the age of thirty six. Leaving a wife and a nine year old son, the son's birthday just 15 days later. His name was, Jeffery Matthew Tiller This is my Hero, This is my Father, May he rest in peace. I remember writing this and trying to read it in front of the class, by far one of the hardest things to do without shedding a tear. I sent it to my mom she cried. |

That was a great essay Tiller, very emotionally touching and well-written. Reading that aloud must have taken a lot of strength. Youre a really good guy Tiller.
