xbox360 vs. PS3 (online play)

Its time to buy one of these consoles. I have always played my bro's 360 but its time for me to get one. I mostly play online. I have been trying to find reviews on the online play for each. What are ya'lls opinions. Farrah is more concerned with which is better for movies as she LOVES some blu ray. Thanks for any opinions.

BTW.... Just hung the 52" Sony Bravia TV on the wall above the fireplace!!!! SUPER SEXY!!!!!

Ive had both and prefer the PS3 for online game play. Ive just always been a PS guy. I would say get the PS3 anywhere and get an extended warranty on it as the Xbox is not the only platform known for failures. My first PS3 after a year would play blu ray discs anymore, got it replaced 2 years ago and no problems since. Then my brother in law just had his hard drive take a crash and got it swapped out for one of the new slim ones.

The way I determine if a console will work for me:
1)Are there at least 10 games out RIGHT NOW that I want to buy?
2)Are there at least 5 games coming out in the next 6 months that I think I would want to buy?

Console's worthless if there's no games for it you want to play (I'm looking at you, Wii).

That being said, I think the xbox is a better console NOW, but I think the PS3 will eclipse it in the next year or so once the developers really start figuring out how to make use of the processing power the platform affords. That, and it sounds like you have an entertainment system that can actually show off BluRay.

I don't necessarily agree. If you're paying for the service, they have motivation to do upkeep on it. Look at the popularity of pay-per-month MMORPGs like WoW or EQ vs pay once MMORPGs like Guild Wars or... um... is there even another popular free-per-month MMORPG?

I have no complaints with my PS3. Sony Bravia TV + Sony Playstation 3 = WIN. That is just good aesthetics. And if Farrah Loves some bluray, then Farrah gets the bluray player.

but we're talking about the same games that are offered for both consoles. obviously hes going to buy and play MW2 the most. so would you rather play it online for free, or play it on another console for a fee when its practically the same.

if the online play is the only reason your buying a console then id say get a 360. thats the only thing its good for is online play. every other aspect ps3 is the winner. if you already have a blu-ray player for that wonderful monster screen then the 360 might be the.... nah fuck that ps3 FTMFW. games in 360 are 720p hd. bluray is the only thing that is 1080p hd so yea

Most games for xbox are 720p, there are a few 1080p games out, and more of the new stuff is native for 1080p.

Mind you, I'm suggesting you should probably go PS3...

they've been saying that for as long as the PS3 is out. By the time they get there shit together PS4 is going to be hitting the shelves.. that being said......
