I would go with the cobra. The E55 isnt a bad car, but things will start breaking as it gets a little older and the bills are going to be a bitch.

The cobra will be cheaper to upgrade/maintain.

Cobra. Lots of fun. And $25K will get you one hell of a Termi. Things have been slow at work so I've been surching on autotrader.com and the market on svtp looking at what I could have get now for the money I spent a year and a half ago.

You can find nice twin screw cars with less than 40,000 with a $22K asking price!

spoken like a true foreign car owner. E55 amg's are so sick. Friend of mine has one. They build like no other. Amazing power stock. different tunes built in stock. Traction Control options are sweet(including DYNO mode) The air suspension is sweeter than anything ive seen in a long time. higher? lower? its all you. Ladies love a man in an AMG too. They just are so "baller"

Then we get into investments and resale. The resale on a AMG is much higher than the termi. As sweet as the termi is, that part it cant compete with.

What do you mean? Which one is better for getting chicks?

Don't buy a car for pussy. Get a VW bug if you want a bunch of girls to like your car.

don't mean to sound like an asshole...but if he's buying a 2003 E55 it wouldn't make him a "baller" nor should he be buying a car because he wants to get girls.

My friend has an 06 E55 that I drove a few times for a long distance. It's a great car, doesn't give him too many problems it now has over 100k miles because of how much he drives for work. The maintenance will be more expensive but it's all up to you. Personally I'd take the termi, it's more fun to work on

Also, have you found a Benz you are looking at? I just did a quick search on autotrader, and I couldn't find an E55 AMG for $25K or less that didn't have at least 60,000+ miles. That's too high in my opinion. I know that Mercedes makes some high quality stuff. And I LOVE everything about AMG. But I just can't see dropping $25,000 on a car with more than 50,000 miles unless it is something really special or rare.

I will have to disagree both these points. First off, you are definitally more "baller" in a top of the line mustang than a mid to bottom of the line mercedes. The E55 just screams that your trying to act bigger than you are. I see these in the ghetto all the time. Now the Cobra, you get a nice one with some exhaust and people will appreciate that and wont be as quick to criticize. As for the "investment" ( which no car is ) and resale. A collectors item like a termi will hold its value a shit ton better than that mercedes. Its only about 5 years from being a 15k car. Honestly, I think Termi prices are about bottomed out. I dont see a well maintained termi selling for less than $20k 10 years from now. Ofcoarse you are going to see the beat up ones that have been abused or wrecked for cheap, but a good condition one that runs strong with low to average milage will hold its value quite well.

I'd go for the Termi, but that's because I know Mustangs and I think sitting in a Mercedes automatically makes you look like a tool.

Now, after driving 'em both, I might say elsewise. The interior on the Merc is certainly going to be light-years ahead of the Cobra, as is the rest of the build quality. However, it's a lot more complex, which means more things to go wrong.

Also, it depends if you want a stick or an auto. I don't even know when Mercedes last offered a manual tranny in any of their vehicles, and manual mode in an automatic just doesn't cut it.

Real women will appreciate the mustang.

Seriously, I hate mercedes and they're nowhere near as impressive to me as a nice, well-taken care of pony is. It's no competition. And everyone's right. With that kind of money you can get yourself a sick car with low mileage. Hell, if I had that money, it would be no question in my mind what I'm putting it towards!

e55 AMG in the ghetto??? im throwing the bs flag on this one. theres a huge difference between an e55 and a e55 amg my friend. No one in the ghetto could possibly afford an AMG and if they are, they should reconsider their priorities. The termie is a sweet car, but im just giving my own opinion. Threw out some facts about it. its his decision.

100% dead serious ( and trust me I know the difference between an E55 and the E55 AMG, I have owned more nice cars that you have sat in... ), I drive right through the ghetto twice a day to get to and from work. I see 2 on a daily basis and one about two or three times a week. Im sure all three are dealers ( base on the area and the looks of their homes ).

e55 would have to be an AMG. Non-AMG Mercs have 3-digit names, AMGs have two digit.

this has had me thinking for awhile,,both supercharged v8's,,both fast as hell stock
and both from special teams within the make.. SVT vs AMG and about the same price. But i know the termi is going to sound like sex with a full exhaust, and some mods and give a HUGE adrenaline rush. But i know the amg has 4 doors, comfortable as hell and just as fast, even though i know I will probably never mod it because of the ridiculous prices. The AMG can serve as a bus for chicks and friends and family, while the cobra would be for 2-3 people but my mom will probably never ask to borrow it (stick). lol So im torn.

ewww. None of the above!!! There are MUCH better deals to be had than either of those. Both are very high milage and way overpriced.

( Im not trying to be an ass, Im just trying to enlighten you )
