Snow...

We are under a blizzard warning. I worked last night. At 230 am there were some flurries. By 330 am it was a blizzard. By 530 am there was at least 6-8 inches on the ground. The snow was deep enough that the railroad tracks were burried and not visible at all. The snow actually created enough resistence that the we would stop without using extra throttle. I haven't seen it snow like that around here in a very long time. They are saying possibly 14 inches or more tonight. If that happens there will be big problems. This part of the state isn't prepared for anything like that anymore. A big snow fall for us is 6". 14" will shut down the entire area. I think things are going to get real ugly tonight.

Way northern Wisconsin and upper Michigan but not in the central or southern portions of the state. We haven't had snow like this in probably 20 years or more.

That sucks. The only problem we have here today is the wind. I landed the King Air today and the weather was reporting gusts to 49kts. We got a 30 knot wind shear on short final which kind of sucked.

We have been in the upper 50s and low 60s for the past week.

I hope that you don't get buried and it warms up soon for ya. If nothing else, take a trip to FL and meet the MM gang there.

We just had rain one morning and it completely iced over before sunrise. About 8 am I got a call to help unload a freight truck that went in the ditch. It went offroad about an hour away from where I live, and the road were dry now, but I went up there. When I got there, I was startled and kind of giggling to myself

And it had two trailers, full of random shit. In the first there was an engine, engine parts, A SHIT LOAD OF HEAVY ASS BOWFLEX'S, Cement, One Industrial sized heater, oh, and by the HEAVY ASS BOWFLEX'S were a few glass products in boxes with the boxes saying Fragile in big bold letters. Guess the truck driver didn't get that memo

In the second, which is where I was most of the time, were ladders, ranging 8' to 12' and a few knockoffs of the "little giant" but before those were some nice encarved tombstones for veterans, which I might add, were heavy bitches. Hah, well, there were also a lot of fabric products and a knocked over bunch of Office Depot flyers, and with the wind, made it an easier job for us, but not for the trucking company lol. In the back were plumbing supplies and Napa brand shocks, so not too bad. In all, it was good fun, got to waste a few (4) hours doing clean-up. Better than flipping burgers at MY job, but its good to help a good family friend out (The Towing Company that was called in).

We got dumped on again here. The wind was blowing like a mofo too. I left for work at 11pm last night and my road was drifted shut already up to my bumper on my Suburban. I got home at 12:30pm today and shoveled. I have no more room for snow. I couldn't even shovel my entire driveway because there is no more room for snow. I hope it doesn't snow anymore....

I'm the opposite - I hate anything over 83 but can handle the cold.

Put on enough clothes and crank the heat and you never know it is cold.

+1 I gotta work outside so its easier to adjust to cold than it is to the heat. You can always put on more clothes when its cold but you can only take so many clothes off (legally) when its hot and you're still.....hot.

i'll take winter over summer any day. I HATE summer, humidity, mosquitos, wasps, pollen or allergies, mowing the yard. etc. you can have it!!!
