need computer help

i was bored today, so i was messing around with windows media center and my xbox. during setup, it asked me if i wanted to allow the computer to communicate with the xbox even while the computer was in sleep mode, so i said yes. now, when i close my laptop, it is constantly running and it's getting crazy hot. i want to turn that option off, but there's no option to turn it off from windows media center

Go into control panel and then to the power saving options. Make sure in the drop down box under "action to do when lid is closed" (or something like that...I'm going off memory) is set to go to sleep

you have the xbox set up as an extender, correct?

See if you can do this.

Main Screen>Settings>Extender>click the xbox>then uninstall it.

thats how it is with 7. i dont have a vista machine with MC around sorry

You already made sure your power managment options were set correct? Make sure you seXbox is off and do everything you have already done, again. Then after that restart your laptop. Then restart your Xbox. If the trouble continues post up. I'll help you when I get home and am in front my my own seXbox and laptop.
