have you ever read about cycleing a tank?

Yeah, But i didnt use new water. Only like is i was to change out some. So I really havent read up on it. But I know I didnt have to do it. All the other fish seem wonderful.

the only time ive had sick fish was when it was new and i was in it like every day moving stuff and such...i left the tank alone...just keeping up with the water changes until the cycle was over and then its easy street....sorry for the simple questions.....im sleepy and cant think lol

Im beginning to think it was shock. But since im a newb I don't know really. So far my water has tested out good on everything.

I was gone for about an hour tho, and I hope my rainbow shark didnt fuck it up. The lady at the store said it was a chance. She really said that it would more or less nip at the fins not really kill it. But he likes to ram the others.

The Betta fights back tho.

what are you using for the bottom of your tank? you want to use something fine so that garbage can't get caught in empty spaces and grow into fungus and what not. That will whack out your levels. Next time get yourself a little catfish or something to keep the bottom clean.

< used to work at a fish store way back in a day.

it has been my experience that many of the other fish that i introduced into a tank with a betta in it would nip at the betta's fins and make it look like hell.

I have small gravel,Like 1/8 size. I have a cory cat and a few tiny algae eaters. I think I am gonna get a few larger ones to help out or another cory.

angel fish will die if you look at them the wrong way. they are very finiky. that Gourami should be pretty hearty though but they seem to be more aggressive than the other fish that you have.

LOL The angelfish is the only one to die. The Black Ghost, Betta and Rainbow Shark are also semi aggressive, altho is seems like the shark is the most aggressive. I am correct right?

i doubt it. fresh water sharks are completely different animals than JAWS!!! If you do an angel again, put it in an agel only tank or a tank with only angels in in it and see how it fairs.

I would imagine that your guarmi is the mose stout fish in there.

I am going to have to disagree. That "Rainbow shark" not jaws is a bully I watch him bust all the little fish balls in the tank. They are very territorial and he chases them away from his rock lol. And yeah I think im not gonna get another angel just have them gimmie another gourami.

Alright well i have a 90 gallon tank.
I put a CD on the right to give you a size estimate. My fish is the entire length of the log. He was hiding from me so i couldnt get any good pics. I didnt want to make him come out cause he seemed happy.

We had to take him out of the tank once and he measures around 17 inches. hes a big fella
