I say steps to ease your way into it. It would be a shame to ruin the car. Also if you're going that far why not go with an auto?

Justin at VMP Tuning's 2007 GT500 has a TVS on it making 750 rwhp with good IATs. A GT500 with a ported M122 making 600 rwhp isn't running very cool but you knew that.

The auto 1. is horrid to drive on the road, usually end up with a C4 with a 5000+ stall on it, no thanks and 2. I like the 6-speed aspect, the drivers car, and the ability to go to stick shift events, its not a competition car, never will be, its a car I am building to what I really wanted, and to have fun in it, regardless I want to build it bullet proof and want to use the best parts I can to make it safe, but its for fun

Again, I don't want a TVS, it wasn't the right choice because of the limitations, I want to be able to do anything I could ever want and more, leaving some on the table so that if I do want to go faster I can simply by kicking the boost up. If I decide a few years down the road its a competition bracket car, and go to an auto, then I can SFI standardize it, gut it, and run 7's with the damn thing if I really wanted so the point there is mute

I didn't say you should get the TVS. I was just mentioning it's actual capability. It sounds like you've got it all handled here so good luck.......

Why do you say the automatic would be horrid on the street? What are you going to do with your TR6060?

You think you're going to be able to drive a 1000hp mustang on the street then you're nuts. You'll be able to drive on short little drive, but a daily. You can't have you're cake and eat it too. That TR6060 isn't going to hold that kind of power unless you get some cryo treated gear sets, and a billet shaft.

That TR606 is holding plenty of cars over 1400rwhp.....

And no I have a daily driver, I plan to drive to shows, take it out on a nice short drive on nice days, trailer it to the track, but not daily drive it, hell my fuel system is going to pump 3g/m

Exactly my point, you're not going to be able to leave that car anywhere.

Thats also not my goal for the car, my goal is to have a car I can take to shows around my area, that I can drive around in and if I don't lay into it its fine, that I can take to the track, run 9's or quicker, and call it a day, I don't need a dead on bracket beast or a $150,000 twin turbo car that I can daily drive either, hell Evo built a car for a guy thats making 1500rwhp twin turbo on the TR6060 and he daily drives it, but he has well over $100,000 invested into that car, no thanks

Then why 1000rwhp? Are you compensating for something? I mean that's a lot of power, and a lot of work to be done on a beautiful car for bragging rights. I guess you more or less just want a dyno queen. So you can put the dyno sheet in the window and impress your buddies. I see no merit in doing what you are doing. Especially since I could take $15k and take a GT and have a faster, and more consistent car.

Tell that to Terry the guy building my car who would highly disagree with you. Seeing as he has one of the fastest Mach 1's in the country running the same tires and stock style suspension like I will be, and his is street driven just fine at 1200rwhp.... he seems to think the car will be just fine to drive on the street and will hook up decently with how I want to run the car

Do I wanna drive it 300 miles to a show? Nope, but I can take it 50 miles out to a show, or to go out and have some fun on the highway here or there, but hey you don't have to like what I'm doing, its the way I see my car, its gonna be that way, and no one is gonna change my mind on that

jeez chill with the flaming on xtremes10, all he asked was if he should do it in stages or full out. he didnt ask if he should have 1000hp gt500 or should have gotten a gt and mod it...

personally, im happy with my gt500 but in xtremes10's case, i'd do it in stages and learn the power at the track.

isnt that so hard to answer guys?

I think it's ridiculous, and I gave my advice. I don't care who Terry is or what this Terry has to say. I have heard it all, and I have I listened and learned the hard way from listening these guys.

Nope your supposed to maybe take his opinion into consideration, and maybe think, oh maybe that car will hook and be worth driving, idk, a low 9 second car isn't anything to scoff at, but hey, call it a dyno queen, idk 9's fast enough for me for now

Dude I have owned and driven a 9 sec car on the street. In form my old 1999 Camaro Z28. I had a stroked LS1 with a 2 stage kit, fully gutted, with an 8 point Chromoly cage. I know a little bit about. I just don't see you planting that 1000hp from a dig with stock style suspension. I know a thing or about dialing suspension, and oding chassis work. I have done all of my own work.

I can't see you planting 700rwhp from a dig not unless you baby it off the tree. In which case you'll be around a 2.4 6-ft time which means you'll need 1000hp to run anywhere in the low 9's.

I guess my point is that you could run those times with less power with the car on a diet, and the proper setup. If I can take a mild built Mach deep into the 10's on a 175hp shot of juice. My car wasn't that light either... You can do low 9's with a stock blower that's been ported, and good suspension, and some slicks.

Good for you, he has rep, I dont know anything you say from squat, so that doesn't give me much, I say i'll hit fine from a dig, hell the guys who did my suspension have a car running a 1.19 60ft with a 275/60 drag RADIAL, I bet they know a thing or two about suspension too
