Yes, that's exactly how I felt.

Simple...don't buy a 2011 and do what I might do. Buy the engine and transmission and install it into yours. Heck, with all the "newbs", egotistical people, "got to be the first one to have it" "my car is better than your car" and "my stock car is faster than your car when it was stock" people.... my best bet is to wait, because there are going to be a TON of those people claiming their insurance for crashed up 2011 Mustang GT's. Just watch how many are going to be crashed / stolen and chopped up for parts in the first year.

As for the power comparisons. At this point it's silly to argue numbers for a couple of reasons. I wasn't aware there are any actual dyno numbers out for the 11', so it's silly to argue 2007 RWHP numbers Vs 2011 flywheel numbers.

The main reason it's silly, however, is that the 2011 not only makes over 100 more horsepower at the crank, it makes more horsepower across the entire rpm range, revs more quickly, and has 4v heads that they say breathe as well or better than the terminator heads.

So even if you were at the same rwhp number with a 2007, vs the flywheel number of the 2011, you are still light years away performance wise from what the 5.0 will do. Let alone what it is capable of doing.
No zip I'm saying you could get a 2010 when the 2011 hits for a cheap price and stroke it and get 4v heads and have much more potential with a motor thats going to have a way better compression ratio.

you bring up another great point, I would avoid buying the first year release of a new model/engine just to find out what problems it might have.

This is just my opinion, and I know some of of the latter have already been mentioned, but I think someone should buy the 2011 because it has....

Considerably stronger 6-speed transmission
4V heads that supposedly slightly outflow the GT500 heads, by 5% IIRC
412 HP with 25 MPG highway
Independently timable cams
Better flowing tubular headers
Larger brakes
Fine tuned suspension
More refined/upscale interior
New bodywork with more aggressive front fascia
Higher N/A and F/I potential(5.0 will make more power at lower boost than a 3v)
