almost arrested today after work......

my grandmother called me a few hours ago just sobbing. her cat, which is her baby, was killed by a black pitbull earlier today. i called animal scontrol, and the guy told me that they had 4 other reports of the dog mauling a couple other animals and cornering an older lady in the same neighborhood. anyways they could not find the dog to catch it. i went driving around her neighbor hood and after about 20 minutes, i spotted the dog out in a field headed towards some trees. i called to him and he turned around. he was extremely muscular, and wasnt very excited to see me. i had takin my 10/22 with intentions of killing him if i saw him. i pulled out into the field, and when he was about 30 yrds away, i shot him. it took 2 shots to the head with my rifle before he hit the ground. i called claunch (the animal control guy) and told him i had found the dog and for him to come and get it. the cops also showed up with him, and one of them was extremely pissed that i had killed the dog in town. i know its against the law, but someone was going to get mauled or hurt by this dog. anyways, claunch took a bunch of pictures, and if i can get some copies of them, ill post them up. one bullet went in clean and never exited, but the 2nd shot wwent in right below his right eye, and came out of his left ear. made a pretty nasty wound. was shooting cci .22lr hollow points. anyways, jsut thought id post some interesting happenings in my world today.

Yeah, kinda fucked up ina way... but i TOTALLY understand your point. It was much safer than calling them first and trying to keep it bayed. Great job getting it off the streets though. Any idea on who's it was?

i dont know the laws in oklahoma, but in VA if an animal kills your animal(s), you have the right to kill it

Imma just guess by it being muscular that it was mike vics that won matches so he let it live and let it go when he got caught.

How do you know you got the right dog and also, you probably shouldn't admit that you knew it was illegal on a public forum.

With that being said, I don't blame you. Those dogs can be nasty and once they get a taste of blood they won't stop.

Any dog is capable of being nasty, and no dog will stop when they go off like that. I've grown up with German Shepherds my whole life, my friends breeds pit bulls, and my mom grew up with mostly German Shepherds her whole life. The nastiest dog I heard of was my moms poodle.

nice kill shot. i hate those dogs. i was in a dope house about 2 weeks ago. thing about drug dealers is, they like to keep these dogs around. the Narc detective almost got his leg bitten off by it. it would have been shot but we were in a house with kids all around us and the risk of a stray bullet was too much. guy took it outside and jumped a fence with the dog. no wonder he left, found an ounce of crack and about an ounce of marijuana. i don't blame him lol.

...only thing I might ask is...how were you sure it was the right dog? LOL....sorry, bad joke. Seriously, we need people to do things like this in our communities. Be a bit brazen at times and make decisions that are tough. Who knows, maybe that dog was heading toward a play ground and had you not acted, he may have killed a kid.

My best friends family raised Rots. Thankfully, that "gang" seen me as one of their own. I seen how they reacted as a pack when they became defensive. I couldnt imagine one of those animals going rogue. There is not too much even the biggest toughest human being can do without a weapon as defense.

Ummm, I wasn't joking when I mentioned it. It just happened here in Vancouver. Cops shot the wrong dog. Biggest problem with that is the dog is still roaming the streets.
