lately, whenever i go anywhere to eat, whether it's a sit down place or a drive thru, i've just been telling my order taker to surprise me. i do this for two reasons. i get some pretty funny responses sometimes, and i get to try new food that i'd probably never order myself. tonight i went to the taco bell drive thru. a girl took my order, i told her to surprise me. she asked all kinds of questions like how much food i wanted, if i was "steven" and why was i fucking with her, and blah blah blah. i told her to just give me what she orders. i said i don't care what kind of food it is, but i want a drink. i don't even care what kind of drink.

so she gives me my total, i pull up to the window and pay. she gives me my change. she asks if i want any sauce, i said "i don't even know what kind of food i'm getting, so i don't need any sauce." she closed the window and walked away. a few seconds later, she asked me if i wanted sauce again. i said "no."

so she hands me my bag, tells me to have a great day (at midnight, lol) and walks back to the back.

NO DRINK.

really now?

i waited for somebody to walk back up but i got tired of waiting, so i said fuck it, and drove away. i looked at the receipt. i ended up with some kind of cheesey beefy crunchy bullshit, and a gordita beefy wrappy spinny thing. i also noticed that they rang up a large mountain dew ($1.69) that i never received, even though it was my only requirement. i came home to realize that she also threw in a handful of mild sauce.

i hate taco bell employees. is it just me or are they always having a bad day. maybe i'm just racist but every employee also seems to be a minority. but whatever, every time i go there, i mean EVERYtime, my burrito is always half rolled with beef and refried beans spilling out both ends. its not fucking rocket surgery, i know those lazy fucks can roll a spliff so why can't they roll a damn burrito?

Luckily, the taco bell by my house has some cute latina girls working the drive through. It makes the half-rolled burritos taste good.

Well I work at wendy's...so I dunno about anyone else, but when you're working a rush and dealing with one person after another acting like a jackass because they expect their shit INSTANTLY and want it to look JUST LIKE the commercial...well that shit gets old FAST so the employees generally start to care less after a while.

Plus I don't blame the girl for ripping you off, if someone came to Wendy's and was all like "surprise me" I would just give you a fry and call it done. It's amusing as shit, and I've done it myself before, but working fast food you lose patience with every guy that thinks they are creative by pulling that.

Edit: I didn't see that you said you did this at midnight. Late night, no problem it would've been a good laugh. But pull that shit during a rush and you can't expect people to care about service when you're screwing with them.

I think the same thing happens in almost any retail/fast food job. I work at Staples and often get called to the furniture area to help someone with a chair, desk, etc. It's no big deal if I get back there and they point to what they want. I tell them I'll have it at the register in a few minutes and we're all set. But all too often I'll get people who basically want me to help them look. They'll have no idea what they want and they feel like they need me to stand there next to them while they test every single chair or whatever. It's really frustrating when I have a lot to get done before we close. I know customer service is a big part of retail work, but I don't want to have to stay late to get my shit done so I hate it when people need me to help them shop for a half hour and end up buying a $40 chair. They could have looked on their own during that time and had someone call me over when they decided what they want so I could carry it to the front for them. It also pisses me off when really big guys come in and want me to carry their furniture. I'm 5'7" 160lbs so I'm pretty small and some of these guys look like they could bench double my weight but won't carry a fucking 60lb chair. /rant



Next time knock on the window. Or go back through the drive thru and make them talk to you that way

the girl was just dumb, i told her to give me whatever she orders, and she still didn't give me the full order, even though she rang it up. and the fact that she asked if i wanted sauce twice, and still threw in a handful of sauce. i was the only person there too.

The way i see it you are lucky. She could have rang you up for a side of beans with some blow job sauce. I agree with 98fire ive worked fast food and i could have cared less what the person ordering wanted or needed. I was more concerned about chill time. Especally late at night when you got all the drunks and teens trying to act like badass's in front of there friends. They probably thought you were playing an joke so they didnt give u a drink. Lol if you ever seen Waiting you now not to piss off someone whos making your food.

My only problem with Taco Bell is that they ALWAYS short me something. Granted when I go there I order like 2-3 random burritos per person, which i'm usually ordering for 4-5 people. So it is alot to keep track of, but they literally short me everytime. And I hate when they short me when the lobby is closed so I have to sit through the drive through again....
