Tummy Pudge on GF.. need some advice .. Female advice as well!!


My fiance had a baby about 7 months ago, before the baby she was about 115 pounds, right now she is about 120-125 pounds. i do not complain.

She is wanting to get back into great shape before the wedding (august 27th) so my question is, whats a great way to work the tummy pudge off?

i've got some myself, and i've noticed that...

A- Running alot, will help lose weight but will not define the lower tummy area.

B- Sit ups and crunches, will work the hell out of the upper abs, but not the lower.

C- side dips, work the "v" but not so much the lower abs?

any tips will be helpful, her and i have made it our goal to get back into shape before the wedding.

Before i got out of high school i was 125 pounds, now im 175 pounds but have put mostly muscle mass on, but want my abs back.

For lower abs there are a few things I do
-lay flat on the ground and raise my legs to a 90* then slowly let them back down
-lay flat on the ground and bring your knees in towards you, you should end up in like a fetal position but laying on your back
-find a way that you can go more than 180* on regular crunches, like on a decline press. The first half of the crunch will work the lowers (pulling you up) and the second half will work the uppers (when you really squeeze your abs)

and abs are usually made in the kitchen. Stop eating foods with fat in them, you are supposed to consume some fat every day, but a lot less then most people do

sex is a given, but that usually works me more then her!! haha. i hadnt thought about the old leg lifts. i use to do those alot during wrestling and weights.

she aslo has stretch marks on her tummy but those are going away slowly. we're looking into the new cream that walmart is carrying.

Has she tried a high calorie/all carb diet? 5000 calories or so a day with a solid 600g carbs should do the trick

Once that stuff's there, it pretty much stays there until there is absolutely nothing else to burn off. Exercises that are focused on that area can help a little, but more than anything, it just takes a lot of intense working out before it will go away. That's the first place fat develops and the last place it burns from it seems like.

Cardio gets rid of fat. The fat your talkin bout is hard to loose and takes a good amount of work.

p90x ab ripper.

I'm not a wimp, i'm a little guy but i'm not a totally chicken. I completed the p90x workouts with my roommate who is 2 weeks in, and its still burning the next day.

Also, its in the way that you do the crunches and sit ups, typical sit ups work the upper abs because no one does them right, if you work out right, than you will get a full work out through the whole range of abs.

haha yea. no, im completely happy with the way she looks, i'd rather lose the weight then her. But i know that she's not happy with the way she looks after the kid. so i want to do everything i can to help her. and i know that by me getting into shape it will help her as well.

I personally think this is one of the best ways to build the lower abdominal muscles. After a while you can even start making it harder by standing over her and giving her feet a good push when they get up to 90* and have her try to keep her feet from hitting the ground until she's done all her reps for the set.
