How much credit do you get from a credit card if you do everything on time? i am 19 and have no credit built up and nobody will give me a loan. I would use it for simple stuff, gas, maybe a few things at wally world...just use it and immediately send in the money.

dont do it, credit cards are very bad. you dont understand how bad they bend you over and fuck you. the only way you dont get screwed by a cc company is to pay it off every singl month. and seriously 90% of people say that and by a year theyve got a shit ton of debt.

if you want money, save it up and buy everything with cash. i was looking for a car a couple monthes ago and the guy was like i need to run your credit, i said i dont have any credit, hes like you cant buy a car wihtout credit and he was flabergasted whenever i told him i could write him a check for anything on his lot.

cc are very ad and can get you into a lot of trouble. you seriously need to go over it with someone who knwos about finances before you go into that, especailly being young. cc companies prey on younger people, becasue they know theyll pull it out any time becasue its easier than paying cash, and it will very quickly get out of hand and then they own you.

so seriously think long and hard before you get a credit card.

sorry for stealing your thread chris, congrats and have fun with it. stay away form porn becuase it will eat a pc up. thats why my next one will be a mac.

Eventually Tony you will have to buy something on time and pay it back, that's the only way to build your credit up. You just have to make sure that you are able to make the payments for whatever it is you decide to go with.
The best thing you can do if you do get a credit card, is force yourself to stay away from impulse buys, and keep the limit on the card low! Even at 37, I have never had a card with a limit of more than 3 grand.
One good trick to staying away from impulse buys, is to walk away for a day. When you are at that point where you are going to buy something, walk away and think about it overnight, asking yourself if you really need that thing, and if you can afford it. You'll be surprised how many times you wind up not buying that item.

Yep, that sounds good. I need to get some credit. I would only buy things like gas and small items and send the money in immediately. I will see about it sometime this week.

yupp but...lol i got a platinum CC with my bank that I was with for years the limit is 1,500 and theres no interest if its paid off and if it dosnt get paid off theres a 10% interest. so its not all that bad...besides i needed credit to help buy a house. Im actually really good with my CC...because I have no life other than my car so it all seems to work out good. lol and thats ok Steven I know your just trying to help. lol
