Here's the deal guys. I've been at work all damn day. My wife calls me up this morning to tell me she is wanting another bike. Okay, so I agree to go looking with her when I'm off this week. Now I have a Honda CBR 1000RR and she has had bikes in the past. She goes out and buys a brand new GSXR 600R and then calls me AFTER the fact! Now me and the wife have bikes but she went and bought and damn squidly Gixxer without even discussing it with me! Should I be mad?!

hell if she rides then let her ride. My step mom did the same thing to my dad. She had a little 250 ninja, and was tired of it, so one day without telling anybody, she went to the local bike shop and bought a new cbr600 f4i....

I wouldnt be mad, because i like when girls get out there and ride, but thats just me.

If you can financially have it.. i guess its fine. and if you buy all your cars and shit, i'd consider it a trade off. all i know is when i get married, were each having our own account. she can spend her money, NOT mine. simple as that

That was a squidly comment. lol But seriously guys I guess there isn't much I can say because we can afford the bike but it was just the fact that she went and bought it without even letting me look at the damn thing. I mean I discuss everything I buy with her because I know it'll affect both of us. Then she goes and does this when I would ever be that inconsiderate......

Not yet, just barely had time to go pick it up for her at the stealership and ride it back to work so we could get it home after work. Then gotta come back with her in her car to get my Cobra.....it's gonna be a good discussion though! I was the first one to ride it though so maybe I won't be too pissed. Dayem that little 6 sounds SWEET! No, no, no, damn it I'm mad......................

Get over it dude. It sounds like the two of you have a great marriage and it isn't like she went out and bought a GT500 or something. You knew she was going to buy a bike and probably had a good idea that it would be a 600 class one at that. That means she can buy any 600 that she likes, which she did.

The fact that you got to ride *her* bike home from the dealership already says enough. Relax, congratulate your wife on a good buy, and go enjoy a ride together tonight.

Do you ever happen to drive on I65/I59 on Saturday or Sunday? I may have seen you as I went through.

I'm driving back to TN this Sat. and should probably be in Tuscaloosa around 2pm. If you are up for it I would definitely like to BS for a bit but I can't stay too long otherwise I won't be getting home until midnight.

I definitely haven't seen on the road then because I always step up, even if it is against a cobra. I know that I will lose but if I can stay close then I've done well.

It all depends on the relationship, and what you guys normally do in these situations,mustangman. Personally, it wouldn't bother me, as I think it's kind of cool to have a wife that still leads her own life & has her own interests, to a point.
But, it's her bike, and if you guys can afford it, she should be able to go do her thing. I'm lucky in that my wife doesn't bother me about my car jones, and I don't bother her about her interests. Otherwise you wind up in one of those relationships where each person is trying to deny the other things they like.
