How can I beat it?

This is my next goal to beat. 1998 GTP auto, with exhaust. His car is pretty quick, but an '05 Grand-Am with CAI, plugs, wires, and a tune lost to him only by a fender. I have a JET chip, dual exhaust, and a K&N CAI. Would a X-cal tune or 3.73's and t-loc let me beat him? If not, what will it take? Hopefully within $500.

No, I dont. I looked and they run 14.9 theoredically. But if you add in that it was probally a pro that got that 14.9, and that he has exhaust, id guess around a 15 sec 1/4 for him.

Put a 75 shot on your car.

you can hit a 15 with a good tune, exhaust, CAI, and UD pulleys get gears for good measure. I ran a 15.2 best without my tuner.

Im between a rock and a hard spot. It may sound dumb, but if you were in my shoes it would be a big deal. I wanna hook it up, but my parents cant know. Yea, im 19 and im old enough, but when your parents bought your car, pay the insurance, and buy the gas, they have ALOT of say. If I did it, I would make sure it would not affect my car in the long run. Id tone it to a 50 shot for one, and whatever else is needed. And, I want to run guages, cant hide that too well.

if you have an after market radio, put the gauges in that lower area and make a door to hide them. Also hide the bottle safely under your rear seat.

Ah I see. Well, I would go for the X-cal, steeper gears, a sticky tire, and lighten your car up. Toss your spare tire, jack, sub box if you have one, extra crap you have in it, your gf, whatever it takes.

Gf, LOL. Faleen, thats a good idea. But, ive never looked under my back seat, is there room? Ive seen a guage for nitrous pressure, but is there a guage to tell how much is left in your bottle? If not that specific guage, can you buy a guage and make it read that?

Averages on street tires for GTPs are extremely low 15s.

well you would have to cut out a place for it in the foam but it would work with a solid stand for it and a place cut out for the bottle to fit in the foam. put it uder the drivers side and don't let anyone sit there.
