Ford Edge?

Just an interesting comparison:

Toyota FT-SX concept vehicle

Ford Edge

now to figure out which concept came 1st (my guess is Edge because its already been in production for a few months)

can't find a date for when either was first designed

The picture to the Edge isn't working for me...

Lots of companies steal ideas from one another.

I really dont like either, but if I had to pick one it would be the edge and not because its a ford but because it looks more like an expedition or a tahoe (whatever class of vehichles those two are in) whereas Toyotas looks like a fucked up minivan. And Im a hick not a soccer mom so down with the toyota.

i'm not really big on the "mini-suv" thing or whatever the edge is supposed to be. at least maybe soccer moms will have something smaller to drive than a H2 while they talk on their cell phones instead of paying attention to the road. maybe this way, everyone else on the road stands a better chance of making it home alive.
oh, and ford didn't come up with the muscle car idea. 1964 and 1965 Pontiac Tempest with the GTO option, which led to the GTO becoming its own model. and before that, there was the AMC Rebel in 1957

Yep, 00vabchgt is right. All of it. Thats what happened with the Firebird when they came out with the Trans America (Trans Am) option, people eventualy forgot the car was a Firebird and it became known as the Trans Am even tho they were still producing other Firebirds at the time.

PS the info on the firbirds very well could be wrong I just gathered that from some things I was told by other people.

Well being a Ford and Toyota tech i can tell you the toyota version of what you have will never be made. The edge is already in production. The edge doesnt sell very well here at least. And i think its ugly. Ford sales are DOWN toyota sales are UP. I would rather work on a Toyota over a ford anyday of the week. They dont break as often and the majority of the toyotas comming in are o2 sensors, and PCM reprogramming. And other than that they coem in for maint. and last forever.

Arent all auto companies copying each other by some means nowadays?? Cars now days are looking more and more like each other, it seems almost pointless to have so much competition if everyone is going to make the same looking cars. Like Dodge and GM redesigning their durango and tahoe... they look even more like each other now than they did before.

What about the box looking honda element and the scion shoe box?

Not a fan of the "crossover SUVs" AT ALL! I'd either want a car, or a truck, not some misconstrued perception of both. But that's just me.
